Summary: Chasing two unicorns lands me zero and all my plates come crashing down. Fuck it, I'm in.

Body: When I first stumbled across this sub, I read a few posts, laughed about how you were just a group of bitter, sexless, misogynists, and went on my merry way thinking that I'd cracked the code to dealing with women. My philosophy was simple: spin the plates that I have no emotional attachment to, and show my "best" qualities to the unicorns, thinking they'd reciprocate and give themselves unquestionably.

Looking back on it now makes me gag.

Unfortunately it took not once, but TWICE for me to make the same fucking mistake before I had this hard hitting epiphany that the things that I was doing to net the best results (improve myself, not give a fuck, always having another option) were red pill. The fucked up part about this is that I internalized these behaviors as being selfish and shitty, that I was only doing them as a way to kill time.

When that unicorn finally came along my senior year of college I did all the right things to get her to invite me over to her place. In my mind I'm in. As long as I didn't make an ass of myself, I could begin the process of starting an LTR. We made out, she pulled back-- seeming uncertain. Instead of seeing the shit test, I proceeded to tell her how I felt about her and how I was going to try to make things work. Needless to say I got a text the next day from her stating that she didn't think it was a good idea that we see each other anymore. She's now banging the alpha bro down the hall from her.

I pull an IDENTICAL stunt the following semester. There are a couple of plates in my life now, but I'm still upset about the previous unicorn. Naturally I find another. She's into me, and I approach things the same way, except this time, after we go out for dinner and I bring her back home, she goes and hooks up with another guy at a party. How do I know this? She had it plastered all over her social media like some badge of honor.

I didn't tell her to fuck off then. I just redoubled my efforts. Eventually I lost her and both my plates and dropped to a pretty dark place.

I've since come around and realized that all of the amazing things I've been doing in my life all follow TRP mindset. There's not much anger left, just a lot of regret and cringing over the past. This shit's tough. I've been wired my entire life to seek the validation of my family, my friends, and authoritative figures. Even the thought of stepping outside those lines appears selfish and misguided but I'm ready to take that leap.

Lessons Learned

  • No girl, not even the nicest ones, is above playing you
