Summary: Developing yourself socially doesn't just happen from analysis of social dynamics. Consistent action over lengthy periods must accompany research. I will lay out different methods and levels of immersion to achieve this.
A few months ago I presented to senior management along with 12 others. We were expected to take any questions they had with ease. A high pressure environment to say the least. A few years previous to this presenting to even a family member sent me into a neurotic panic. I feared nothing more than public speaking. I was pathetic at it and I believe people felt pity for me (that is not good).
Anyway at the social after the presentations I overheard the most senior manager proclaim that I was the star of the presentations. In fact I now get regular compliments on my presentation manner.
How did this change happen? I had gone from fearful, neurotic, pityful loser to charismatic. The answer is progressive repetition and immersing myself into what I felt vulnerable. Presenting in the mirror hundreds of times. Presenting with family members tens of times. Constantly offering to present when situations arise in work. Taking avail of training courses. It meant being uncomfortable on every step of the way, but it also has meant massive development.
I find this analogous to the problems many of us have socially and with girls. Guys who are educated but not socially aware can develop amazingly.
These are ways to immerse yourself into social mastery from the lower levels.
1) Live with strangers, preferably sociable.
2) Keep an interaction log. This provides a perfect mix of action and analysis. I cannot stress enough the value of this.
3) Say yes to things that make you uncomfortable. If the only reason you don't want to do something is because you're scared, that is all the more reason to do it.
4) Meditate. This helps you become more present. More aware of your thinking habits and therefore means you can tackle vulnerabilities at the core more effectively.
5) Talk to yourself in front of a mirror. Nonverbals rule interactions.
6) Record yourself. See if you have any bad or weird habits.
7) Develop a group of male friends. Preferably not losers.
8) Party a lot and date a lot. Do not rule out the less attractive women when you are starting. Experience is confidence. Confidence is attractive.
9) For complete beginners with women who are terrified, use apps like tinder, easy dates, easy lays and again real experience. For braver men, visit r/100sets
10) Join a sports team. A sure way to learn about manhood.
11) Lift. Not 100% relevant, but do it!
What I am trying to get across is: do not get lost in theory for months or years. Take action immediately.
Feel free to share any techniques, tools or resources you use to develop yourself.
