There's gyno and there's fat.

You have a little of both. Your nipples are puffier, softer and larger than they should be, which is PROBABLY not going to revert not with fitness/diet, given that you've carried them well out of puberty.

There's also extra fat on your chest which WILL come off if you get down to 10-12% bodyfat.

First step is to control what you can control. Get leaner and remove estrogenic compounds in your diet / lifestyle. This will help you harden up and get less bloated, which will help even if you can't lose breast tissue right underneath the nipple.

You don't really know how much moob is GYNO versus how much is fat until you get leaner and see what's left.

For Gyno, you typically will need surgery, although it's possible certain products like estrogen-blockers and/or aromatase inhibitors (AIs) like letrizole will knock it out.

You want to start with the least extreme. Diet, exercise, avoiding soy, alcohol, grains. Get good sleep, eat saturated fats, protein, cruciferous vegetables. Basically, follow good practices to get yourself in a lean, anabolic state free of phyto-estrogens and stressors. Stress promotes cortisol release which increases estrogen. Extra bodyfat increases estrogen.

In short, let's first see if a complete lifestyle/fitness/diet overhaul can tweak your hormonal levels enough to correct the problem. Chances are it won't knock it out, but it will certainly help in that gyno looks less bad if you're lean and ripped.

If that does not help over 2-3 months, speak to your doc about treatment for gyno. Anastrozole, letrizole, etc do work in some cases. Some doctors will not really help at all, and this is where a RP comes into play. You need the finances to just go see doctors until you find one that will play ball. That is what my father had to do for TRT after an illness that really screwed him up - no one would prescribe him what he needed. You sometimes have to just doctor hop until you find one who's willing to help, you may have to go out of network.

Again, this may or may not fix it.

If it is still not solved, then you have to resort to the most extreme, but most successful measure. Gyno surgery requires research and multiple opinions, because it's costly, painful, and not foolproof. It's also not covered by most insurance. That being said, many patients are very happy with the results.

So go through the A -> B -> C. First see if you can knock it out with an diet & lifestyle changes. If you can bulk up and lean out to the point where it's not bugging you, then you can leave it at that. No need to progress further.

At the end of the day, girls don't really give a fuck IF you don't give a fuck. I've fucked girls as a musclechub, I've fucked girls as an inshape guy, I've fucked girls when I had teen moobs. It really, truly does not matter.

If you need this process for you though, then you're old enough to consider treatment or surgery. I 100% stress that you should try to optimize your health and fitness FIRST and see if you can chip away at it first.

I had them too.. Badly. It's gynecomastia, and nothing short of surgery will completely rid you of them

I'm 30 now..my story-

From about 14 on I was know as "boob", and even went to the dr., who assured me they would go away. I was skinny with them too..or skinny fat as I know now

Senior trip cemented it, when we went to the beach and had a meeting, my shirt was off in front of the entire class and my ex girlfriends friends were pointing at them (whispering to her) Word got around that I have man boobs to people who didn't know

I hid them with baggy dark clothing and layers for years. My posture was terrible because I hunched over to hide them. (It's much better now but permanently I ruined it.. Still working on that)

I was the guy who wore vests.

The only TRUE way is surgery.. But I did the best I could do without surgery

I stared lifting with strong lifts and CUT

I went down to below 10% bodyfat.

Boobs were the last thing to go, and I was still left with puffy nipples, but I got newb gains, and a low fat body. I looked good and loved the fact that I could wear a t shirt again!

I've been slow-bulking..they're coming back slightly, but not the way they did before. I'm still not happy with my chest but no one will point anymore. It looks normal, even though I see it.

A tight shirt you can still see them a bit but even then, showing off the rest of my body makes up For it

So if you can't get surgery..(the only TRUE way..and even then they've been known to reappear)

CUT! Eat 500 calories less than maintenance. And eat tons of protein. (Close to a gram per lb of your body weight)
LIFT! You must stay disciplined. And in weeks you'll see the boobs start to go away, I PROMISE

I lifted on and off for years..but until I started strong lifts and took the mentality that I'd rather die than miss a day at the gym (4 days a week NO MATTER WHAT) all about discipline

From 2008-2010 I was fat as fuck. Well over 250+ at 5'11 and had some serious man boobs flapping around. Girls would tell me strait up, your tits are bigger than mine. After a year of intense cutting, I got down to 169 and man tits are gone. Cutting out xenoestrogens, as mentioned in other replies, can only help. Also look into supplementing with Calcium-D-Glucarate (CDG) and Diindolylmethane (DIM) they are both compounds found in green leafy plants like kale/broccoli. You can read more on the technical mechanisms, but they both help the body bind and remove "female" hormones.

Based on your photos, mine were much, much worse. I considered surgery or just cutting them off myself so many times- but those ripe ol milk jugs sorted themselves out.

I have this on one side. It's gynochemastia. Lifting won't help. Diet won't help. Make it not noticeable with lifting and diet etc or bite the bullet and get surgery. Personally I'm leaving mine where it is, it doesn't make too much difference to me. I have a few months off to lift and get everything sorted, so depending on how that goes depends on if I decide to remove it or not. Also: consult a doctor. A username on Reddit is not a doctor.

Man I get how that could be a confidence killer. The quick answer is surgery. The better answer is surgery after you get your chest as swole as possible to see if it's still even an issue for you.

The thing is, after you get surgery for that you may end up finding another minor flaw that you will obsess over.

Ultimately, keep lifting, see how the tits progress after six months or a year and if you feel like they gotta go then get the surgery.

Just wanted to chime in and say I have a similar problem - I have breast tissue that I believe I'll need surgery to remove. However I am still overweight but working on that, so eventually I'm sure weight loss will help; I've also been lifting for a few years and my chest has "stretched out" more, which has also helped to make them less noticable.

Personally I've learned to just not give a fuck what others think, while still trying to control what I personally can. Hopefully in a few years I'll have the opportunity for surgery.

That's glandular tissue. You have gynecomastia, and you've had it for 8 years so it's not going to go away by itself. Nor will it through diet or exercise, not eating canned food, estrogen blockers, or whatever other bullshit. That stuff may be useful for avoiding gyno in the first place, but you already have it, that tissue isn't going away without being removed by a surgeon.

I tell you this as someone who went through it, had it from 13 to 28 years old. If I could change one thing in my life it would be having the surgery sooner. Let me know if you have any questions.

As for the "hamster" comment.... Not really. I simply subbbed a few of the heavy chest exercises for hard cardio. It's not like I'm sitting around going "woe is me".

I run 3 times a week, play soccer almost every afternoon, and do various exercises to compliment them. Although, I hear what you're saying and I'll take it into consideration.

They will disappear when you eat whole foods and limit calories. No excuse not to lift iron. If money is your impediment then do the free no gear program from Gym Jones. You are hamstering your way to staying fat bysaying you might as well not even work out if they wont go away. BP af.

While I am no expert, I think lifting can help. Focus on incline bench or flys, or overhead press with the heaviest weights possible to pump out 3 sets of 6-8 reps three times a week to maximize hypertrophy. Building your upper pecs pulls your whole chest up; the fat will still be there but stretched over a larger area and get rid of "ski jump nipples".
