Don't know why this thread is so cold. Its an important topic. Yes, this is further encroachment of the feminine imparative. Everyone like to laugh at his jokes about what a deviant pervert he is, and pay him millions to talk about it on stage. In one of the main stories he invited 2 women to his hotel room and then took off his clothes and started masturbating. Imagine a woman invites you to her hotel room and walks out of the bathroom naked with a vibrator- would any guy remotely think that this was harassment? Even a married guy would just leave the room. I think he handled this the best of all the recent accused. He owned his shit immediately and apologized. This has the effect of taking away 90% of the energy of the witch-hunt crowd. He'll probably have the quickest and smoothest career recovery, compared to most of the other recently accused.

I think it was a shrewd, Art of War-level move on his part. Let's see how it plays out from here.

I think what truly gives me a headache about this story is the whole victim complex being shot up to a whole other level.

Women have choices. They could have said something earlier or just walk the fuck out. The whole "he's so powerful he can ruin my career" is just a bunch of BS. The same with the "I'm so traumatized."

Everyone has a choice. If my manager or whoever was gay and asked me to come to his hotel room so I can watch him jackoff, I'd tell him to go fuck himself and walk right out the door.

He fires me, so be it. I get past over for a raise, oh well.

These women allowed this behavior for reasons (he ASKED them and they were not on drugs or alcohol). We all know the game. And I'm not saying guys like Wields or whoever are saints. One hope I have for these scandals is that everyone gets victim fatigue and starts looking at these things like adults.

The Abuser/Victim framing of all these things is set up so that shitty behavior by one person justifies shitty behavior by another. There are no constructive outs. The Abuser is an evil violator and the Victim is a righteous revenge fantasist and that's the level of understanding everyone brings to it.

Conflating the stories about CK and Weinstein is wrong. They are not the same thing. One involved a power dynamic, and the other involved a power dynamic and actual violence. I think CK owned his shit and will ultimately walk away from this, but the asking to wank thing is something I hope we get into more deeply, because that's a symptom of how fucking pathetic men have been allowed to become.

What does a man believe about himself and how he relates to women that he asks permission to get himself off in front of them? I read about that specific scenario and see a good man who has been broken by something. The guy wants to be respectful, he wants to follow the rules, he wants permission to be sexual. He's essentially saying, "Listen, I hate myself, I don't know how to be better, you don't even have to touch me, I'll just be over here." By extension you get the whole, "yeah, punish me, I am a piece of shit who had it coming anyway, and confirming all that self hatred will vindicate me."

It's an unpopular view, but I have a lot of sympathy for some of these guys. Rapists not so much, but these low hanging fruit "misconduct" celebrities who women are using social media to set up as hate figures are collateral damage.

Hollywood has a rape problem, but there is another deeper societal problem guys on TRP have a lot of tools to solve. How to prevent guys from becoming such complete bitches that their only means of game is to degrade themselves. What the fuck. I can totally see how these guys end up in that situation, and I can see how being punished for it will vindicate their own self hatred, and make a bunch of white knights be all "this is our moment!", but what I don't see is how we find guys who feel like this among our friends and set them straight.

What won't stop bothering me is the calculation. I've spoken to a few women about this stuff since the scandals broke, and each woman said that "yes, I've had variations of this happen to me, and every woman I know has as well. You just decide whether to report it based on whether you want to make that person a part of your brand by making a big deal out it. You don't want to be known as 'Jenny, the girl with the sex assault thing with that guy.'" I can see how that's a hard choice.

But if you are going to accept that you now choose to identify as "a sex abuse victim," it better be the celebrity/powerful abuser, because you aren't going to take on that identity after being molested by just some loser you can blow off as a non-event without taking the personal brand damage. Nobody's tumblr is about their recovery from being flashed on the subway. I get that there is a power difference in these complaints and that is what makes them exceptional, but in terms of harm done and proportional response, I hope we find alternatives to these victimhood spectacles.

These guys acted like pieces of shit because they believed they were pieces of shit, and that's something we should all address. The ironic solution to all these abuse cases (and probably most rape cases) is to raise boys and teach men not to be more obedient and "respectful" of women, but to be less psycologically dependent on womens approval in the first place.

I'm actually seeing women on articles getting upset by this. Women who most likely were happy to see his public execution mere hours ago. Common women have no reason to sympathise with Weinstein or even Kevin spacey but Louis' entire career has been about sympathising with him as a person. And yeah the feminist agenda comes first but some women who are more invested in his career as a fan seem to be getting upset by how hard he's been hit. Just something fascinating I've noticed. How far does it go before (some) women go against the feminist agenda of destroying men simply due to their desire of them.

The main problem with this whole thing that I keep seeing being overlooked is that if he was attractive enough and actually had proper seduction skills the women would have slept with him and never said a word. I can only imagine how many women George Clooney or Ben Affleck have banged in their years in Hollywood, the difference being their level of attractiveness.

Women are playing the game: using sex to get resources. Louis C.K. was using his resources (power) to get the sex that he wanted. I am not saying that I would follow this strategy, but I think the public shaming of men playing the game has to stop. Women are not innocent. Just as a man can say no when a woman manipulates him with the promise of sex, a woman can say no when a man in power propositions her for sex. It's the game. It's not fair.

But why would the shaming be outside of the game?

The way I see it, these are the rules of the game:

There are two parties: Men and Women
Women's value is sex, which is given to them. Men's value is resources/power, which they must build up.
Each party uses their value to get the value from the other party: Women use their sex to get men's resources and Men use their resources to get women's sex.
Each party gets to manipulate the other to extract more value than they give.

And women's shaming of men for acting their part in the game falls under rule #4.

If women as a whole can shame men as a whole for demanding sex in exchange of resources (in this case, knowing a celebrity, which increases your social status), then it will be all the easier for women as a whole in the future to get more resources in exchange for less sex. This is exact same dynamics happening at the level of one couple when a wife will slowly diminish the sex but keep demanding the same amount of resources from husband. And if he complains, she gets to shame him for "only wanting sex from her!". This female manipulation is part of the game.

You can complain about the rules being unfair but it won't change the rules and it won't stop women from doing it. Best thing you can do is play the game to the best of your ability, and let the others fail. Learn Game, increase status, don't get married. Get the sex you want without giving away your power and resources. And let the celebrity betas be shamed into compliance to the feminine.
