Greatest thing to ever happen to you, if you do it right.

I recently told my bro about it, who tried it, but broke down when his ex found someone else and was posting pictures with him. First off: He wasn't doing it correctly. He was checking her social media accounts hourly. Sure, he was going to the gym with me and trying to focus on improving himself. However, his sole intention was to win his ex back. In my opinion, this should NOT be the purpose. No contact should be like popping a pimple. You can stay friends with your ex and go through a slow and painful process. Or you can cut off all contact and pop it.

Now here's my experience with No Contact. This, in my opinion, is how to do it correctly. My ex and I broke up and we stayed talking for a little over a month. She wanted to get back together, but I slammed the door shut when I found out she wasn't changing into what I really wanted, there was no purpose. Immediately, before I could unfollow on everything, I noticed that I was blocked on all social media. I think a week went by until she was uploading photos with her rebound, to which my friends sent me screenshots. I didn't give a shit. My priority was working out, graduating, starting my business, self improvement via TRP. When you're doing all those things, I quickly forgot that I was even in a LTR. I went, and am still, into monk mode and starting building myself. This, however, is for a whole other post.

Fast forward 3 months, her best friend slid in my Snapchat. Now I have my settings set to the point where anyone can see my stories and anyone can send me messages. So we talk and she mentions that my ex misses me more than anything, cries about how I got away, and will do anything to win me back. She even sent me screenshots of her texts. Long story short, I found out that my ex used her account to keep some pride and make it seem like its her friend sending me those messages. I was also told that her rebound boy from Tinder had drugged her and cheated on her with his ex. Of course, I had moved on forever ago and now I have other priorities including a serious case of a oneitis. I told her "friend" that I would give her an opportunity to speak to me face-to-face, out of respect, but there's a 99% chance that I will not take her back.

Why do I share this story? I've seen too many bros doing No-Contact strictly to get your ex back. Stop doing that. Get over your ex in your own way, everyone gets over people in different ways so the way I did it will not be applicable to everyone else. Afterwards, when she comes crawling back, and she will have been disgustingly used by other guys, you can decide if you REALLY want to have her back. But honestly, if your mind has grown due to Monk, you shouldn't want her back.
