I don't know about you guys but one of the reasons why I still write for The Red Pill after all of these years is to farm sweet sweet narcissistic enjoyment from PHDcucktoids writing research papers about my articles.

As always these papers are completely wrong because they are written by midwits who use big boy words but lack the reading comprehension to understand what they are writing about.

Let's break down this abstract:

I could pick through the numerous errors in this polemic, not least of which was the rather humorous reference to a study done on TRP in 1984, when none of its founders were out of middle school.

But let's take a step back and ask some broader fundamental questions, instead.

What, exactly, is the purpose of this paper? What ends does it serve? What change does Sean M. Eddington, PhD, hope to create in the world by the act of committing it to paper?

It is couched in a language that clearly marks it as intended for consumption by other PhDs studying "Applied Communication", who read the "Journal of Applied Communication Research".

Presumably, it will have some effect on them when they read it, which will influence what they write, couched in equally academic language. Which will in turn, influence other academic writers, and so on, ad nauseam.

But one is disposed to wonder at what point any measurable result is expected to exit this closed ecosystem. The author takes great pains to assure his readers that many thousands of comments were subjected to "semantic analysis" by computer software, but no numerical or quantitative data is presented at all, much less related in a meaningful way to any significant conclusion.

Instead, readers are subjected to a melange of Sean's thoughts upon looking at the constructed word cloud, and upon reading some of the raw data, although presumably not all 35,000 comments worth. No information is forthcoming on how he selected comments to read.

What benefit the reader is intended to derive from this process is not clear. It is not even clear if the reader is intended to derive benefit at all, which implies the question of why anyone other than myself could be expected to read it.

In short, this paper is a PurplePillDebate comment, and not a particularly compelling one, with some computerization and technical verbiage slapped on in an attempt to ennoble it with the mantle of scholarship, in a fashion that disposes me to wonder when John Frum is expected to show up.

The only outcome that can be anticipated is some degree of alteration to the career of Sean M. Eddington, PhD, both at Purdue University and elsewhere. It is possible that this is the only intended outcome, since when we read the wordpress blog of Sean M. Eddington, PhD, to find out what words of wisdom this expert has for the layperson, it contains, in the two years since its creation, the following sentiment:

I'd love to see a social experiment where a few dozen test subjects are selected. They're instructed to utilize the side bar.

Personal growth is emphasized instead of accommodating female hypergamy.

Fraternity is promoted with emphasis towards masculinity and competition.

Guys are instructed to adhere to a strict work out and dietary regime.

Guys are encouraged to approach and develop social skills by meeting a quota of interacting with women who are desirable but must not maintain any notion of monogamy.

Let this program run for 6 - 12 months and report the findings.

Ask the subjects how many will want to maintain this lifestyle. Ask them the overall satisfaction they have regarding: life, personal relationship, sexual relationships, career, self worth and confidence.

I'd imagine that few, if any, would willingly want to go back to a life of being told that they're automatically guilty, they should feel bad for being sexual, and body acceptance is a virtue instead of a plight.

The whole thing would be scrapped due to promotion of 'toxic echo chambers' with all research destroyed. I'm saying that in satire but I don't think it'd be promoted or acknowledged.

I know it's anecdotal but I any guy I know that's been introduced to the community has gone through a period of trying to prove it wrong, anger at the result, and once acceptance comes in they're more well adjusted and successful.
