Short post

A comment on another thread just begged me to clear this common misconception: "It's the tight body that the girls are attracted to, not the sense of humor. You can quote me on this: being funny has absolutely no effect on female SEXUAL attraction"

This is both right and wrong.

Right because simply being funny doesn't get panties wet.

Wrong because being funny can indirectly push a lot of attraction switches. Just notice how much girls list "a sense of humor" as an attractive trait in men. Only, it's not for the reasons they think.

  1. It requires (and hence displays) intelligence, which is attractive in the context of looking for a relationship. A weak one, I concede.
  2. It can get you social proof. If you are genuinely funny, you'll often be the life of a social event.
  3. This gets other men to actively want you around and listen to you, activating the "leader of men" switch.
  4. Funny people are usually excellent neggers. You'll never see a woman laugh with so much joy (and secretly dripping her panties) as after getting hit with a masterful funny neg.
  5. Last but not the least, good humor has a lot in common with push-pull. Build anticipation, then zap it with a punchline. Again, funny people are usually good at this.

TL;DR Being funny isn't inherently sexy, but good humor has a lot in common with game.
