Here in the UK we still have some (not many) old fashioned pubs which are pretty much devoid of women. You may occasionally find a married woman out with her husband, but predominantly it's an all-male crowd. (Mostly married men 40+ come to shoot the shit.) There's also the occasional working man's club which tends to be a 99% male space. But again, it's all guys who're well past 40.

One of the things I've learnt from these places is that the men who go there, think the current generation is a bunch of wussy faggots. Despite being from said generation, I can't really fault them. The majority of my peers are not very masculine in my opinion. They're also not very smart and don't deal with competition well. (They don't grow from it at all. How they've ended up here is a debate for another thread.) From this I'd say you've definitely got a market, at least in the UK you would, but I think you may struggle to attract the modern metrosexual man in his 20s. That's not right or wrong, despite my personal belief that it's a bit of a tragedy, but when you're dealing with business you need to be quite cold about the economics.

This would likely not work and I'll tell you why: women go out much more often than men, about %30 more. Men go out upon the prodding of women, or to meet women. Women spend more when going out, pay higher markups for food and drink, but more importantly cause men to spend more. The lowest four top bills are men, next comes women, then mixed groups. Any male centered marketing would not hit the mark without the white noise backlash from women who are pissed you're not catering to them. That's why no bars have "gentlemen's nights" but "ladies nights" are so prevalent.

Anything hyper masculine comes across as not genuine. Anything more muted doesn't come across at all.

Source: marketing BA and ran a popular pizza bar in a large state university city for 3 years. My family has run successful restaurants for 3 generations.

If you want any type of success you should be aiming for the hot girl demo, then the dudes will come. If you try and start a sausage party you'll open a ghost town.

Exclusivity can't be manufactured, it has to develop organically. But in most venues that are able to successfully exploit that model, they're still cutting off their nose to spite their face and leaving profit on the table.

What you're aiming for isn't a good target. Frumpy old men are extremely price conscious, but loyal. And you don't have to exclude women from your marketing to capture them. It's the opposite in reality.

You want more dudes at your place of business? Hire attractive female help and advertise some ladies nights. People are paying hundreds of bucks not for the bottle, but for the hot pre wall lady providing the service.

Sounds like a pipe dream that butthurt dudes say to themselves when they see "no cover for women," and feel like their entitlement isn't being catered to: because they don't see the forest for the trees and don't realize that the women bring the men out. Because I can get drunk at home with takeout and my guys, be far more comfortable and spend way less money. But you know what my pad doesn't have? Gussied up vaj looking for the chance to impress their friends by meeting me.

You open up your sad oak bar with the moose on the wall and my cousin will be there in year two to pick up the lease, put cosmos on the drink menu, charge twenty percent more and have over twice as much traffic from the first night.

There's the way things are, and there's how you wish things could be, my advice is to not confuse the two. That's the road to bankruptcy.

The thing is that women don't go to barbershops to get their hair done so the "men-only" concept is a great one, you won't lose much business. A man-only restaurant will remove part of the market. Everybody loves food, so you can profit off of women just as equally as men.

If you're hellbent on the concept then keep a simple menu with classic dishes and have beer - LOTS OF BEER. Like I mean, crazy deals where buying a beer with your meal is a steal. That'll bring the guys in. Also consider happy hour. And focus on your name, if your place is called "The Man Cave" then your clientele get the theme before entering, you wouldn't have to specifically restrict ladies because organically they wouldn't want to come.

I think you should think this through a bit more. Starting a business should foremostly be for profit, over 70 percent of consumers are female.

I'm afraid you'd never get away with an explicitly men only bar/restaurant. However you could make a bar that isn't very welcoming to women. Those exist all over.

The problem is they aren't very profitable. It would end up being more a labour of love than anything.

Create an atmosphere that is consciously in opposition to all things involving "Cultural Marxism".

Basically make women not want to be there because it doesn't feel good to them.

Systematically do things that annoy females that enter and then learn from each encounter to increase efficiency.

Make being offensive to Feminists a science and a joke. (have fun with it)

...be adaptive.

This sounds incredible man. I say go for it and see what kind of response you get. As with most if not all business ventures the idea itself has to become reality to see how well it works. I have a similar idea for a men's only cigar club in NYC and Nashville. Don't let anyone tell you you can't do something. If you want it bad enough and believe in your idea it will manifest. Best of luck from a fellow swede (heritage, not living there).

This just made me think of how much I would like to go back to when I was growing up. My family was a member of a country club, the old-school style of club where you needed sponsorship to be a member. Private club. One of the restaurants was sectioned in half (very big space in each section) by a wall and two doors. The back half had a big bar, tons of TVs, popcorn machines, food, and access to the men's locker room. This was a "Men Only" section of the club, and it was pretty amazing. Hell, the locker room was everything you could dream: shoes polished while you're on the course, all kinds of hair products, shave creams, after shaves in the bathroom.

There was a club of guys that would throw an event every month where one guy would "sponsor" the event, deciding the menu for the evening and some extra entertainment at night, but first a round of golf in the afternoon. They would even have boxing events every now and then.

I was never much into the CC lifestyle back then, but looking back I long for the days so I could pop over on a Saturday morning, hit the course, stop for lunch, grab a shower, lounge with a cocktail, play some cards, have a satisfying dinner, network with other professionals, and just have a total guy's day.

Open a whiskey/scotch bar and have a members-only lounge(only men can obtain membership) and have a separate area for the general public. You'd have more luck with this.

I'm Canadian, My dad said there used to be restaurants/bars that were only for men, probably back in the 70's I gather. Not anymore though, obviously.

My ideas mainly relate to the ingredients:

Zinc and P5p- proven to decrease estrogen and prolactin

High quality proteins in most dishes. Consider using protein powders in desserts and drinks. Add in a dash of creatine, beta-alanine, etc standard ingredients from preworkout powders.

Oral anabolics a la carte if permissible in your country.

Market it mainly part gym/part restaurant or ideal postworkout meal place. Encourage gym bros to come by giving them discounts if they show proof of gym attendance that day.

Depending on how much you want to spend there are many avenues you can take this down. I would probably have a traditional male venue shooting range / skeet shooting etc bowling alley, pool tables etc paired with a simple restaurant you have transference of customer x comes into shoot he grabs something to eat if its a good range, if its good food x comes in to grab food he shoots. Establishing the decor as a masculine space will also inherently make women feel uncomfortable and not want to be there.

I've always found these kinds of things problematic. You can't force something like this. It'll happen organically if it's meant to. Just like your little greek place or hole-in-the-wall pubs. Make something attractive to exclusively men and it'll attract exclusively men. There's no need to go out of your way to declare it a "no woman" zone.

Even ignoring the business side of things, I don't think it would work - there is only so much shit you can put up with. Knowing Sweden, it's likely that you would get bullied out (constant threats, vandalism and so on).

When I moved to the south my barber was this place where old men would sit around and jaw all day. The barber's daughter also cut hair but was suspiciously absent most of the time. When she wasn't around all the men would cut her down and no one would let her cut her hair.

I stopped in one time and she was a mammoth whale. Her chair was immaculate without a hair on the floor or anywhere around. I don't think she cut anyone's hair all day. Being 12 years old and not really giving a damn I said she could do mine. She got excited, clapped her piggy hands together and gave me one of the worst hair cuts of my life.

Never again did I go back. I've become very picky about who cuts my hair though I have since shaved it completely so it's not a problem.

Also all the old southern men were really fucking racist.
