Having recently returned to the dating scene after a 13 year marriage, I wanted to share an amusing observation / series of events that ultimately resulted in my dropping two of my first plates.

Myself and the ladies are all in our mid-30's - one divorced, single mom - the other a never-been-married hipster. Initial conversations were honest and direct, with my emphasizing interest in fun, without commitments. This was all good and well, at the start - including sex on the first dates. By the third date with each, both began to express interest in my children, offered invitations to hang with their friends and even posed questions of whether I would ever get married again.

Ahh, no. No thanks. And, wtf are you talking about?!

When I reiterated my fun-only intentions, which both had previously agreed to, I was met with vile condemnation. Nevermind that both of these women have been vocal about their past sex adventures - at times bragging about "fucking away their feelings in their 20s." Here and now, when they are desperate to find a husband, my intentions are "repulsive." One hamsters on and on, saying "Do you want some man to treat your own daughters like you're treating me?" The other insisted, "I'm not gonna be one of your bitches ...you aren't a fucking player."

Oh, insulting me, now? crash Plates dropped. I'm not going to be slut shamed by retired sluts, of all people. I gave the marriage-talking plate a hard next and now she sends me pictures of her and her girlfriend fucking. The other, I told we've spend way too much time together. The sex is really great and has since said she's willing to try to be open in our relationship. I've still yet to see her after two weeks, so we'll see how tomorrow goes. She may have to hit the floor, harder.

I'm open to critiques. Understanding that my biggest problem is the age group I'm spinning. I just have a really hard time suffering the immaturity of 20 years olds - I'm working on this, though.
