Summary: If you identify yourself as various archetypes like alpha/beta or even a nerd/geek/dumb bodybuilder, please stop it. It is going to deter your journey of understanding yourself better as a man.

We love to stereotype people, and a huge part of it is influenced by the mainstream media. You see these movies in high school where someone is a nerd, and others are in football teams who get all of the chicks at the beginning until the nerd steps up or something and he gets the girl in the end. Mny people who have analyzed these situations know that there is nothing IRL like that, and its basically similar interests that attract certain people and not something so concrete. But the blue pill conditioning subconsciously tells us how in order to achieve success in life and get the girl you need that struggle and have to be bigger than all the others. You are the underdog, you are special, right?

My story in school days was very similar. I resonated more with the crowd that loved to fight and play sports and do shit basically. Used to produce tons of menace and got involved in a lots of fights. As time went by and puberty hit me, add to that the continuous push from teachers on becoming great in academics and the pedestalization of the toppers I began distancing myself from my previous interests, and all these movies had the most successful guy being bullied a lot, who sits in the corner and studies etc. And I imitated that image. I have no clue why but its what I became. I had amazing friends and I was at the top of my heirarchy, I self sabotaged myself to the very bottom because the society told me that being a nerd and struggling is going to get me pussy in the end. Nice guys finish last.

Now that I found TRP I became depressed for a while regretting that time and that urge to go back and slap some sense into my past self. Now Im from a country where we tend to be very close with our families, so I openly shared my doubts to my mother and she said something that snapped me out of this. I always believed Im this socially awkward dude for whom life is unfolding itself and the nobel prize is just coming his way, and the image I attached to myself continued to even my college days where my groups consisted of either total rebels or total nerds, the kinds I saw on TV actually becoming successful (think college dropouts/people sitting in the back benches) but I later realized that the people who are socially good too do amazingly good at acads, and boy do they get girls!

So what my mother easily predicted and told me was that there is nothing wrong with me, that this antisocial idiot Im pretending to be was never my identity. And after I carried this belief with me, my social outings took a whole new turn. I started improving myself in all facets of life and now Im still on the same journey, but yes I realized something about the stupid stereotypes we create for people.

No, all CEOs are not dicks. They can be some of the most amazing people you've ever met, its just that they selectively chose people to hang out with since their time is valuable. I used to believe that bodybuilders are all stupid idiots who are just obsessed with muscle and women and just want to show off, and now that every intelligent dude I know goes to the gym and is getting a great body it took a 180. You notice this with TRP too right? Mysoginistic neckbeards they all call us, but you know and I know that we are not that by a long shot! So why attach labels to yourself?

Also to point out an important facet of this thing, the whole alpha/beta/omomega are characteristics and if you stop identifying yourself with these lavels but instead try to pick areas of your life where many of the characteristics could help would be great. A nerd is a well read and a well informed person, right? Embody that characteristic. Beware of the media influences that try to attach a script to the kind of person you are, since you are a mixture of all these archetypes.

Oh and yes, this is a good marketing tactic as well used by cults. RSD too recently is dwelving into the same pit, even though Im a big fan but they create this Us VS Them mentality (way to point this out-when the person uses the phrase 'most people are like...' a lot), where a speaker creates this negative image of the person who is failing at game/anything. Living in your mom's basement etc., peoole begin to attach themselves to these labels and holy shit all my problems are because Im THIS person! Hence looking up to Tyler as the second coming of Jesus (check out the comments o n youtube, this is an actual comment said in seriousness, no sarcasm/exaggaration here!) who will finally solve all their problems and get them out of their mother's basements and reincarnate them. In the words of GLO, its like a religion for them!

You are unique in more ways that you can think of. If you like reading, body building etc. well and good, but dont build your identity around many of these things. All the best with your pursuits in life people.

Lessons Learned: Do not attach scripts/labels to yourself according to your nature. Your personality is a flux and it will keep on changing.
