I knew when i had a problem when i didnt fap for 2 days and was wondering why my cum smelt like chlorine, than i realized holy shit do i actually masturbate so often that my body is constantly producing new sperm

[–]frameintegrity 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Seminal fluid is a base (like bleach) to neutralize the acidic environment in the uterus/tubes so your little swimmers can survive long enough to win. If it smells strongly like chlorine I suspect it would be very effective in making a baby at the right time.

[–]yeahweewee 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

its why you abstain from sexual activity 3 days before donating sperm makes it more effective thats what chlorine smell comes from

Pornfree > NoFap

People have been jerking off for millennia, it's fine as long as you don't death-grip that shit. Porn is the problem, it's way too much stimulation for your mind to handle and it will desensitize your dopamine receptors like any other drug. What human male historically would be accustomed to seeing a seemingly infinite number of naked women constantly fucking and sucking dick on demand? It's a godamm hyper-stimulus.

If you don't think it's addictive just try to go without watching it for a week, you'll see.

[–]4io830 points 11 years ago [recovered] (8 children) | Copy Link

Makes you realise how sexualised society is today. When you go porn free you notice how much soft porn is out there. You cannot walk through a shopping centre or watch TV without marketers trying to grab your attention with boobs, ass and legs.

I never thought I would ever think this, but there conservatives are indirectly right. There is some value in modesty.

[–]nofaprecommender 18 points19 points20 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Don't eat for a day or two and see how good anything tastes after. There is value in self-denial.

[–]ioncehadsexinapool 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

very true. I used to go to work starving (cause i was lazy) and the sandwiches that came from the machine were delicious

[–]NikolaTeslaMGTOW -4 points-3 points-2 points 11 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Conservative values are right (aka productive), thats what Dark Enlightenment is about. When we stop having conservative values we shift to liberal values and civilization collapses, this happens repeatedly again and again.

Unless people are anarchocapitalist and rational they need to be conservative or else civilization collapses. Liberal is just the disease of wealth and production that conservative values produced. This is what is happening now with women being whores, betas won't produce, and everything collapses.

Basically its this. If men don't get sex, they don't have incentive to produce. So when women are dumb whores who are pieces of shit not worth marrying or even dating/LTR for the most part, men stop producing and either work on game to get sex or become incels or brony faggots.

Why put in work if you don't get paid? This is why slavery isn't productive, this is why you can't just keep raising taxes, men rationally respond to incentive so we keep doing this tide goes in tide goes out cycle of traditional/liberal values like a prisoner's dilemma where there is sexual value for women to cheat and lie about paternity til the point men figure out women are whores and treat them as such.

And I am not endorsing conservative values, but choice between them I prefer conservative this close to the edge of civilization (possibly even the end of it with nukes). If the economy collapses because of dumb fuck liberals in a world economy it could create nuclear war or leave us in a state so deprived of natural resources humanity as we know it is over.

I am anarchocapitalist/agnostic FTR.

Edit: Also its going to collapse, there has never been a turn back from decadence in society, some other stronger more masculine society will take over, maybe muslims, maybe chinese, but as we become decadent/feminine we are replaced by masculine societies.

[–]RejectionEquality3 points 11 years ago* [recovered] (1 child) | Copy Link

Conservatism is no paradise.

I'm a right-leaning libertarian, if anything. I would happily cross over to conservatism if it means it would enable me to attract hordes of hot young sluts that would actually fuck me, because that is all that matters to me. Not at all interested in relationships of any kind.

But my experience with conservative women is that they are all obnoxious, demanding prudes and harpies. Many of them ALSO not worth marrying, LTR, or even dating.

Society can burn for all I care. It was doomed from the beginning because of the Law of Entropy, anyway.

Feminism has won. Liberal women are plenty good to hump & dump. They're not that horrible. But I won't become one of them.

We mostly agree, I just disagree about some of the finer points.

[–]NikolaTeslaMGTOW 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Conservative is no paradise, and liberal ideas are a false paradise that is unsustainable and will always collapse.

I'm not defending conservative values, I am saying they are productive compared to liberal ones which are destructive, aka they make civilizations collapse.

You didn't understand what I wrote, I am agnostic anarchocapitalist for the record. Its just a fact that has been the pattern throughout history, its not something I want to be true, its something I believe to be true based on logic and evidence of history.

[–]rabblerabble8 7 points8 points9 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Yep, this is a huge red pill to swallow but it's important. Much like a woman's brain becomes desensitized to pair bonding through too many casual sex partners, a man's brain is just as at risk to sexual psychological issues when it comes to porn.

If you are truly horny enough to jerk it, you shouldn't need external stimuli to orgasm.

Its not too many, its any.

Remember

DO NOT FEEL GUILTY FOR BEING A MAN THIS IS HOW THEY WILL TRICK YOU.

YOU HATE WHORES NOT BECAUSE YOU HATE WOMEN, BUT BECAUSE WHORES ARE NOT WORTH INVESTMENT, IT IS A GOOD THING, IT IS YOUR BIOLOGY WARNING YOU AGAINST THE WHORES WHO WILL EXPLOIT YOU. THIS IS GOOD. YOU DO NOT HATE WOMEN, YOU HATE WHORES. WHORES WILL BE TREATED LIKE WHORES BECAUSE THEY ARE WHORES, REMEMBER THIS.

Seriously, we are not shallow because we like hot women, we like hot women b/c of genes. All of our maleness is evil and bad, just like being white is evil and bad. But these are GOOD. Do not be ashamed and everytime you find a whore disgusting be thankful your whore radar is working.

WHORES ARE TO BE TREATED AS WHORES.

Do not marry them. Do not give them time or money. You wouldn't pay full price of a new car for a car about to enter the scrap heap would you?

Thats what a whore is, she has defiled and therefore devalued herself for breeding. This was her choice. DO NOT PAY FOR WOMEN'S BAD CHOICES.

On the other hand reward virgins/madonna's. They are wonderful and worth marrying. They are not pieces of shit like whores. They have value. They are the new car that is worth the price. They are worthy of being mothers of your children, and your wife. They are beautiful and good. They are the prize of all prizes. They are perfect as can be. They are the anti whore, they are to be loved and treated well but in a masculine manner. Apply TRP to them anyway, and don't put them on a pedestal, but recognize how valuable a good woman is, and how rare.

Seriously I can't stress this enough. Your instincts are there for a reason, they are your guide, you were formed by nature to be the apex warrior and killer and fucker of women, listen to that 200billion years of evolution screaming in your ears that this dumb whore isn't worth shit. Don't let your rational mind say "you hate women", don't be programmed by sluts to pay full price for trash.

[–]nofaprecommender 2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I would say they are both important. However, I would agree that nofap + porn/edging << pornfree + sensation-only fap. The most important thing is to discipline your brain and your thoughts to not take you off into a sexual fantasy la la land during every idle second, but instead to stay here in the present moment, engaged with the real world at all times.

[–]scarfox1 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Exactly, NoPorn > NoFap. And they also don't understand the importance of edging, they think its a cruel joke but they don't realize it's an ancient technique outlined by Mantak Chia on how to reach multiple orgasm. A combination of edging, contracting the PC muscle as well as doing 'reverse kegels' will start off the process. But they are like narrow minded religious goons, they think NoFap=the success. But truly, its NoPorn and MO (multiple orgasm) or rather, No Ejaculation except on occasion (dry orgasm).

[–]MacBadoo 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

So, pornfree is just using mental stimulation for fapping, right?

[–]ioncehadsexinapool 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I went 10 days without porn or jacking it. on the 10th day i jacked it to porn and it felt like i was 16 again. That made me realize i need to completely cut porn, and for now fapping until i can trust myself to not PMO

[–]throwaway68746 -1 points0 points1 point 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's really fucking annoying people keep saying this. No.

If I start out jerking it by hand then get porno mags I am used to jerking it by hand and porno mags are a step up. If I start out with internet porn that becomes the base "mark" and anything else that is a step up is a step up like anything else.

[–][deleted] 34 points35 points36 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Check out yourbrainonporn.com if you want to know more about nofap without all the broscience surrounding it. This video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EHHyt6z0osA, made by the founder of yourbrainonporn.com, Gary Wilson, is a very good place to start and actually substantiates its claims with scientific research. Don't mind the title, the video is a very good summary of the why and how of nofap.

[–]angel3110 14 points14 points14 points 11 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

A post on NoFap sent me here. I am on NoFap since January 4. No masturbation since then. Once a week or two i watch porn. I am highly motivated, more creative, more confindence. The energy that you feel/have is amazing. This year i managed to write more than i did in 2 years combined. Try it. It will help.

[+]2 Senior Endorsed Contributorvengefully_yours -9 points-8 points-7 points 11 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Doesn't work like that for me. If I hadn't gotten laid since January, hadn't jerked off either, someone would be dead by now. Why not get out and get someone to get you off? You sound like an incel when you say this kind of thing.

[–]angel3110 15 points16 points17 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Are you kidding me? Sex is allowed. Who said anything about sex? I said no masturbation. NoFap means no masturbation and no porn. There is a hardmode with no sex, but no thanks.

[+]2 Senior Endorsed Contributorvengefully_yours -9 points-8 points-7 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

If you're getting laid regularly and still need to jerk off, you have a problem. Its either you aren't attractive/dominant enough to have your girl(s) put out often enough, or you are addicted to slapping your man meat around. Pussy > handling it by a huge margin.

[–]angel3110 10 points11 points12 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You don't understand. The point of NoFap is that we have an addiction to porn/women/easy pleasure/sex. That addiction makes us weak. Once you get along with the program, you realize that women are not as important as you thought. You start to become more confident because... you don't care anymore. NoFap is a bridge between blue pill and TRP.

My only concern is my work. Women come and go. I make the most of every situation. Sometimes i win, sometimes i don't. It doesn't matter. I have fun. Since TRP, i don't believe in relationships anymore. But that is ok because now i can enjoy life. There is more to life than women. I want to do something important, i want to create something, i want to be remembered. Your life should not revolve around women.

[–]ExistD 23 points24 points25 points 11 years ago (49 children) | Copy Link

Got to 77 days without watching porn or masturbating then gave in because of the urges; it's harder than you think. There is an addiction; by masturbating to porn you begin to become dependent on them women, it's also a massive cause for erectile dysfunction.

Keypart: masturbating is fine, just don't masturbate to porn or even visualize porn.

[–]4io8 7 points7 points7 points 11 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I did it. Got the superpowers. For me it worked.

[–]2RedPill4LYF 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I had them before, too. It feels incredible. Then sex happened so my streak was gone. After a while you start to become really selective about who you might sleep with cause you know what you're sacrificing.

[–]nofaprecommender 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Have sex and don't bust your nut. The best of all worlds.

[–]itsarusko -3 points-2 points-1 points 11 years ago (43 children) | Copy Link

Why? I masturbate regularly I also fuck my girl regularly. I don't see any effects. I watch fetish based porn (school girl, lesbian, femdom) but I fuck my girl like a champ and she always wants more. And don't give me that shit about porn making your fetishes more and more intense because I've been watching porn for 6 years (since I was 15) and I'm not making my girl fuck animals and shit

[–]Mightaswellmakeone 39 points40 points41 points 11 years ago (36 children) | Copy Link

Revisit this post in ten years.

[–]1animal_one 44 points45 points46 points 11 years ago (24 children) | Copy Link

No shit. It's like a 20 year old kid lecturing us on how safe cigarettes are because he doesn't have lung cancer.

[–]GenuineBPA 7 points8 points9 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

TRP circlejerk intensifies

[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points0 points 11 years ago (22 children) | Copy Link

Sure. That's a totally valid comparison because there have been thousands of studies linking masturbation to insert random disease here.

[–]FuckTheZer0 18 points19 points20 points 11 years ago (16 children) | Copy Link

They were told cigarettes were healthy and/or had no negative side effects back in the day when cigarettes were rather new. High speed internet porn is really new. It is a pretty damn good comparison.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (15 children) | Copy Link

I could put up a similar counter-argument about the relatively new absurd cult practices of NoFap. How can you be sure that not ejaculating for prolonged periods won't fuck up your prostatic/testicular health and increase your incidence of cancer 10/20/30 years from now? How about that comparison?

there are no definitive causative (AKA, not correlative) links between masturbation frequency and the occurrence of the disease.

In fact, there are no definitive causative (AKA, not correlative) links between masturbation frequency and the occurrence of any disease. That's exactly my point. Why are you going around telling people that masturbation is bad for their health?

cut out the porn.

Why? Because you said so? No thanks bro, I'm fine and I'll be fine. Mind your own damn business and stop preaching.

[–]nofaprecommender 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Why would it? There's no reason that not masturbating and looking at porn would give you cancer.

[–]cali_gunner -2 points-1 points0 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Seriously these nofap people are not socially well adjusted, they tend to be super depressed/fucked up to the point that they deny their own body a natural release and freak out about what's arousing them. It's a lot of thinking about something that doesn't deserve as much, and is the reason you have performance anxiety.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

It's a fucking placebo! These hopeless fucks need something to hang onto in their miserable and aimless lives. So instead of taking a responsibility and working towards self-improvement, they decide that not fapping for a month or a year will somehow impart them magical powers and they'll turn their lives around.

[–]cali_gunner -5 points-4 points-3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The fact they call masturbation fapping shows how slowed their development has been.

[–]2 Senior Endorsed Contributorvengefully_yours -2 points-1 points0 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Actually might be something to that.

[–]joncho 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

The point is that in both cases a 20 yo won't notice the consequences, not that they have similar effects.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

The point is that you can't go around telling people that doing something is good/bad for their health unless you have some scientific evidence to back it up.

[–]joncho 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

No, that was not the point of the analogy whether you want to be obtuse about it or not.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

By your lack of counter-argument, I presume you agree that going around telling people that masturbation is harmful, without having any scientific evidence to back it up, is preposterous and idiotic.

[–]joncho 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I dont follow and have not even researched nofap. You are just being obtuse.

[–]2 Senior Endorsed Contributorvengefully_yours 9 points10 points11 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

OK, I'm 45, still check out nudes, and still like the same kind of porn i did in high school, its simply far more accessible. Have five women I can fuck at any time, a few like the same bdsm type shit I do, and the plumbing still works fine.

I agree that the 20 yo kid is inexperienced, but porn is only a problem if you have a problem with it. I can drink alcohol daily for six months, then not touch it for more than a year. Once again, its not a problem because I don't have a problem with it. My ex's nephew has a problem, dude can't have one beer and stop, he has to drink until he can't walk every time he has the chance, and he wants to be fucked up all the time. He has a problem, it runs in his family. My ex doesn't drink, never has, but she abuses her ADHD meds and pain killers. Her sister is like her nephew, a blithering drunk if she starts, and she's a school teacher. I had a rum and coke last night, first alcohol in weeks. Looked at some naked bitches just a few minutes ago, still not flapping, I can get a woman to do it for me.

Its not a slippery slope for everyone, just those who have a problem with it.

[–]SE17 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This comment is right on the money. The whole nofap movement is for the exact people that have a porn problem. For others it's a useless endeavour. It's like sending a social drinker to AA.

[–]nofaprecommender -1 points0 points1 point 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It may not be a slippery slope for everyone, but it is always harmful. Like your alcohol analogy--you may not become dependent on it like some people, but every time you do drink, you are still killing your insides a little.

[–]Anderfail -2 points-1 points0 points 11 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

I'm in my 30s, in great shape from lifting constantly, masturbate regularly and fuck my wife regularly. My sex drive is far higher than hers. NoFap is full of betas and fucking losers. There is a reason why you never hear about these people in real life.

[–]1xwm5 points6 points7 points 11 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

There is a reason why you never hear about these people in real life.

Because it is a fucking embarrassing thing to talk about face to face. Its not like I go around shouting "Yes, I used to fap 6+ times a day and be extremely depressed, but now I am actively trying to give it up, and am feeling happier."

I'm in my 30s, in great shape from lifting constantly, masturbate regularly and fuck my wife regularly. My sex drive is far higher than hers. NoFap is full of betas and fucking losers.

Which is an anecdote. Just because you don't have a problem doesn't mean that no one does. Try to keep an open mind, after all they are simply trying to better their lives in a way that is very similar to the way we do here (lift, meditate, concentrate energy on real goals not sex, etc).

[–]Anderfail -1 points0 points1 point 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

If they aren't lifting then everything they are doing is absolutely useless. That I see so many goddamn fatties and skinny motherfuckers everywhere is a testament to how little people actually care about putting forth real effort to improve themselves. Lifting and eating healthy is NOT a quick fix, even if you use steroids. It takes years of effort to see good results. If they were actually do this then they would never need to use something that has no basis in science.

[–]GettinDrunkWithJesus 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Or you know people could be improving themselves in other ways?

[–]RPeepo 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Masturbation is natural, anyone can tell you that, from psychologists to fucking doctors that know not ejaculating every so often greatly increases the risk of prostate cancer. The one thing I do agree with them is that porn is toxic, vanilla masturbation is something everyone should do.

[–]nofaprecommender -1 points0 points1 point 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

You might be in great shape physically, but nofap also helps your mental performance and focus. You are comparing yourself as a fapper to other people as nofappers, which is completely useless. The only comparison that matters is yourself as a fapper vs. yourself as a nonfapper, and you lack either the courage or discipline to make that comparison.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

So you're saying that most nofappers are inherently morons. God knows what will become of them if they start fapping on top of that! Haha

Porn induced ED is a real thing 100%. If you have a one a day wank masturbatory habit I would definitely recommend scaling it back or doing nofap. After a week it honestly is like drug withdrawal. Tossing and turning in your sleep. Insane cravings.

[–]NikolaTeslaMGTOW 5 points6 points7 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

This is bullshit. I used to jackoff like 3x a day all through high school and at least once a day in college til now WITHOUT PORN. This is just normal male libido. If anything its porn that causes the problem not jacking off.

[–]ioncehadsexinapool 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah, it's mostly the porn.

[–]HalfPastTuna 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Ah. The weekly bro-science post.

Stop shaming people for their sexuality and guilt-tripping them about getting some relief with some esoteric bullshit.

I'm 38 and for more than 25 years have been furiously fapping with and without pron. Sometimes three times a day. Even when I was in relationships, where I had sex on a daily basis I would sometimes want to jack off again by using both porn and my imagination. I've got a very high sex-drive and I refuse to suppress it.

Never did I experience the need for more extreme porn. I also didn't end up fapping 24/7.

Porn addiction is just a symptom of problems which go deeper than just the easy access to porn. People who suffer of it might as well end up being an alcoholic or addicted to WoW or whatever.

Also fapping doesn't reduce your t-levels as is propagated by the church of /r/nofap. Read this article or use Google to find millions of others on that topic.

Fapping won't make you go blind and also won't make your spinal marrow shrink.

In fact to the contrary masturbation might even benefit your health and especially your prostate.

This shit has been going on for centuries and boys and men have been shamed long enough for their need to relief themselves sexually.

Don't give in to this bullshit.

[–]mercuryg11 points 11 years ago [recovered] (1 child) | Copy Link

You are mostly right, the majority of the /r/nofap movement is pure bro science and jumping to conclusions.

In terms of self improvement, the sub aligns with trp, but when it comes to everything else they're as blue as you could ever get. They give women a pink flair, they pedestalize, they're the polar opposite of trp because (maybe without even realizing it) they're completely ruled by the feminine narrative.

It's a 99% bullshit sub filled with toxic shame that simply doesn't belong here in trp.

But the actual science is not to be ignored, for example the part about dopamine tolerance and how it's related to libido and anxiety. I was a nofaper for a while (now just noporn) before i found TRP, i wouldn't say it gave me superpowers, but i definetly felt something.

[–]Red_Shirt_Blue_Pants -3 points-2 points-1 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Men haven't been masturbating multiple times a day for centuries. There isn't any type of study to prove that. What we do know is that porn is more available now and with that comes and significant increase in both masturbation and negative side-effects.

Its not some feminist attack, its a real method that works. Most of you just can't give up the urge because you are a slave to your urges. Alpha my ass who gave you a +1

Men haven't been masturbating multiple times a day for centuries. There isn't any type of study to prove that.

Still not what I said. I said we were shamed for it. The church propagated it, the parents made boys giuilt-trip for it. That happened for centuries.

[–]lesslibido 15 points16 points17 points 11 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Anecdotal evidence with a sample size n=1... Yet as embarrassing as it is to admit my experience with nofap cured crippling erectile distinction through pure abstention. Now the sample size is 2 and we cancel each other out. Over 100,000 subscribers to that sub alone. Thousands who have found help for real problems. Don't mock what you clearly don't understand.

[–]2 Senior Endorsed Contributorvengefully_yours 6 points7 points8 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Its easy to understand you have a problem with it, not everyone does. Vandaalen is 100% correct about it being a deeper problem than easy access to porn. Not everyone who drinks alcohol has a problem with it, not everyone who fucks has a problem with it, and millions can jerk off without it controlling their lives. I see 100k incels who believe religious bullshit, and most likely have a problem due to an addictive personality type. That's all it is, religious shame tactics and guys with a problem not giving themselves a wank.

I have gone years without roughing the bishop, know what difference it mande? Absolutely none. Maybe the difference between a man like me and you is I can get laid when I want to. Might be why its not a problem for me, because pussy is easy. Why is it easy? Read the sidebar for starters. There is so fucking much untapped snatch out there and all you have to do is go talk to the owners. Super powers my ass, that's just normal day to day shit.

[–]lesslibido 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Never said no one should masterbate. Nofap is for the equivalents to alcoholics of porn use. No shame tactics. It's a support group for people who have a problem. Of course superpowers are day to day shit, we can agree on that. People who experience them simply lost something from super stimulating themselves on marathon porn and regain sensitivity after giving it up. Do as you wish just know that there are documented effects of overconsumption of porn and masterbation and it's okay to choose to give it up.

BTW, frequent sex here. For whatever it's worth and whatever your insinuation was meant to imply.

ED for men under 50 was vanishingly uncommon until the advent of HIGH SPEED internet porn. Now doctors are seeing more young men suffering from ED every day and almost exclusively from heavy porn users. Fapping itself won't damage your Weiner and neither will the dirty magazines our forefathers fapped to and many nofapers know that. A video called the great porn experiment explains the science well.

[–]Kaelteth 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

OK, but now you're discussing addiction again, not some simple movement. Addiction to anything is bad, and should be dealt with. Solid TRP theory.

/r/nofap claims "superpowers" for every man for just not blowing loads. That's a streaming pile of fucking bullshit. It's cultish garbage, shaming male sexuality.

Yeah, if you have a porno problem then deal with it. If you're living in your basement whacking it 12 times a day and avoiding human contact, deal with it. And I won't deny that NoFap is a method to deal with it.

But if you're a normal guy, fucking women regularly, and spank it when you decide you want to spank it, who the fuck cares? And more importantly, who the fuck are you to shame me for being a sexual male human?

This is why I see nofap as "feminist" and anti-trp is because it treats normal sexuality as shameful. Fuck. That. Shit.

[–]Kaelteth 5 points6 points7 points 11 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

You sound mad. Why not let people try this guys very reasonable advice and come to their own conclusions?

It's understandable that you default to getting defensive given how long you have been jerking off. At this point you probably couldn't stop if your life depended on it but don't tell other people not to at least try it because you are too far gone.

[–]Endorsed Contributorvandaalen 10 points11 points12 points 11 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

I sound mad because I fucking am.

Finally there is place, a save haven, where we can go and discuss our sexuality unbiased and without being shamed for it.

What happens on at least on a weekly basis? Followeres of a pseudo-scence bro-cult will try to trip us into feeling uncomfortable and guilty, because we are doing something bad (to ourselves) when we are getting some kind of relief and won't even refrain from classifying this behaviour as being psychopathological.

/r/nofap not only allows women but will even give them the ability to attention-whore again by flairing them with a pink username. What the fuck do they have to with all it, besides from being the problem?

This fact alone tells me a wohle lot of shit about nofap.

It's understandable that you default to getting defensive given how long you have been jerking off.

You wish dude. I am not defensive about it at all. I'm open about it. It took me years to overcome the shame for my sexuality, but I finally succeeded. I am a sexual being and that includes masturbation. Period.

At this point you probably couldn't stop if your life depended on it but don't tell other people not to at least try it because you are too far gone.

LOL. Yep. That migh be it. /s

People can also try to shoot themselve in the nutsack if they believe it can help them to get superpowers. I'd still tell them that it is probably not a good idea and might be bullshit.

[–]catofillomens -1 points0 points1 point 11 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I say let them have a try. We should all objectively review evidence by ourselves if able, and the opportunity costs for looking into nofap is near zero. Whatever the community is like, whatever stance they take, it can't hurt to learn what they're about and maybe pick up a few kernels of truth.

Maybe it works for some people, maybe it's a cult, I don't know, and I don't care. But discouraging people from looking into an idea simply because of surface appearance or bad reputation doesn't make sense. Many people would have never found TRP with such an attitude.

[–]Endorsed Contributorvandaalen 2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]offonher 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

this is such a slimy tactic, the old 'don't bad mouth our cult, just let people try it without hearing any negative opinions about it what so ever...'

Why should the nofap cultists proselytise but no one else is supposed to have an opinion?

[–]catofillomens 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

I probably should clarify my stance - I don't actually know much about /r/nofap or subscribe to them. I don't think they should avoid being criticized. I encourage criticism of anything and everything, but I don't agree with discouraging investigation.

You've prompted me to take a closer look at the claims of /r/nofap, and I agree that most of them seem quite exaggerated or nonsensical. But to me, it's a matter of principle. If I ask you to simply trust my claims on an organizations and their beliefs, that's encouraging intellectual laziness. Instead of asking readers to form their own opinions based on facts, you're asking them to rely on the opinion of others.

Now, I'm not saying that we shouldn't present our opinion or criticism. I'm saying that we should present them in a neutral way that lets readers come to their own conclusions. If someone asks me, for example, if they should join Scientology, I wouldn't say "steer clear of them, they believe in an alien god, they're all lunatics and cultists", because the way I'm framing their claims would be inherently biased. It's the same way that people say TRP is about manipulating women. I would instead point them to some of Scientology's more ludicrous claims that are either presented by a neutral party or by Scientologiests themselves and let them draw their own opinion.

Like I said, this is quite an idealistic principle, and it's just my opinion as intellectual honesty is quite important to me. I always try to take the strongest version of an opponent's argument to refute (think of it as the opposite of a strawman).

As for your previous comment about not jerking it often in human history, perhaps you're unaware of our relatives that are constantly fucking or rubbing one out. Nothing feminine about controlling my urges to be more productive. If anything, the fact you need excuses to cover up your inability to fight the urge to fap makes you much more feminine lmao

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 11 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

The part where you made it a personal attack is feminine.

"I disagree with you..."

"Must be because [insert baseless assumption of opponent's character flaws]"

This is how women and children argue. Attack what is being said, not the individual behind it.

[–]Red_Shirt_Blue_Pants -2 points-1 points0 points 11 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

I'm pointing out flaws that he said himself. Hes jerked off furiously for 25 years sometimes 3 a day. His words. Its not a feminine attack, he obviously has trouble controlling urges if you have to fap three times a day.

Normally I'd care about opinions here, but you didn't read and comprehend correctly.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

They're not inherent flaws, you're only framing them as flaws to suit your agenda. What you call "controlling urges" I consider suppressing your sexuality.

I've quit fapping for long periods of time as an experiment, but I can't give myself pats on the back at the end of the day for not fapping. Its not an accomplishment. No more than "giving in" to natural horniness is a defeat. When you're not actually horny and just mainlining porn for the dopamine boost, sure, thats a problem. But its perfectly natural for a healthy young man to have the urge to get off 3-5 times a day. You're again being feminine in the solipsistic way you're projecting YOUR sex drive as the universal norm.

[–]Red_Shirt_Blue_Pants 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Not at all. Everyone has the urge. Its about fighting that urge to be more productive. If you CANT put aside fapping everyday to improve yourself then that is a problem.

We're all about self improvement. Many posts talk about getting rid of bad habits to be more succesful with women and our careers. No matter how you try to spin it, fapping often is a bad habit and moderating it will produce great effects of increased productivity. "hurr durr feminism" You lot sound exactly like people who blindly label us as mysoginists.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

If you CANT put aside fapping everyday to improve yourself then that is a problem.

Exactly. And how do you know OP couldn't do that if he so desired? You don't. You completely manufactured the premise that he's too weak to abstain as a point of personal attack.

You're the one doing the blind labeling here. You can't seem to fathom that WON'T quit != CAN'T quit. Some of us have ridiculous natural sex drives and find that we're more productive after quelling the urge than we are trying to channel it. Just because it works for you doesn't mean its the right choice for everyone.

[–]Red_Shirt_Blue_Pants 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Its not blind labeling. If you "masturbate for 25 years furiously, sometimes 3 times a day", thats just sad. And you can't really talk about blind labelling on a sub that blindly labels certain actions as beta or alpha. As if life is black or white. If you call yourself an Alpha, you should be able to moderate your urges. If its so strong, then get laid instead of using your hand.

Maybe if being beta helps some guys be more productive we should advocate that as well? Nope.

Those are two entirely different phenomena.

[–]throwaway-aa2 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

Different.

One difference is, after you are done masturbating, you usually lose the will for anything sexual. This itself can have an effect on sex.

[–]2 Senior Endorsed Contributorvengefully_yours 3 points4 points5 points 11 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

That's kinda the point, maintenance when a female isn't available. Why would you want to again? I guess if you're some kind of socially awkward incel, then getting out of the basement and not touching your no-no zone would be a good idea.

[–]throwaway-aa2 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Here's the thing. Anything of worth, given abstinence, is more desirable and invokes a more powerful attitude. Someone who drinks water everyday isn't going to feel the same as the person who has been in the desert and hasn't had water in 2 days, and the energy that manifests for the guy in the desert when confronted with water is going to be much more powerful.

The reason us guys masturbate, is we get a strong urge to. Even if you're not necessarily thinking about anything sexual, you just get a primal urge to. And the thing is... is that someone who masturbates a lot (or drinks water regularly) isn't going to have primal urge that the guy who hasn't came in 2 weeks has. A guy who drinks water regularly might only do so much for more water... the guy in the desert? There is no LIMIT to what he will do for that water.

When you have such a primal urge as having sex / masturbating, when you suppress it, those urges become much, much stronger. And the longer you wait, the more you would DO for a piece of pussy, the crazier you will act when you have a piece of pussy. When I didn't masturbate when I had a girlfriend... I became sort of crazy when I would see her... much much more aggressive, dominant, I didn't give a fuck. Without a girlfriend when I don't masturbate, I'm like the guy in the desert... I have nothing to lose, I act how I want.

Also I find the urges I get, I'm able to redirect the pent up sexual energy into other aspects of my life.

And it's not like this is some phenomenon that has just been recently discovered... there IS such a thing as tantric sex, and the principles that it's built on easy explain anything /r/nofap or other similar subreddits have to offer. And yes it's ESPECIALLY useful for incels...

You don't HAVE to stop masturbating... but there's no doubt that not doing it gives you something powerful (only if you want it or need it).

[–]2 Senior Endorsed Contributorvengefully_yours 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

That is sensible, but the underlying and sometimes outright theme of these posts is don't touch your junk and you will be superman. Here's a bit of info, if I have gone too long without draining the now spermless sack I can't function nearly as well. The longer it goes, the worse it becomes until I get frustrated easily and someone will get injured for saying the wrong thing. Most men aren't like me with a high drive and severely detrimental results of not getting any, so I don't go around telling them they must get some daily or twice a day so they can function.

However, for me, sex with a woman is far more satisfying, enjoyable, and has a longer time period after it before I need more. Jerking it is a shorter duration and far less enjoyable, but sometimes it needs to be done. Its more like a chore, such as washing my car where its not a shitty thing like changing a diaper or draining a portalav, but it should be done to keep things working. Most of the time I realize, holy shit I am frustrated and on edge, then realize I should get laid again. More important shit going on in my life than sex.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

As somebody without a girlfriend who goes out every now and then to score, I rely on masturbation to keep my standards and stamina in check.

If I haven't masturbated in two weeks and I get with a girl, I can't actually enjoy fucking her because I'm ready to blow the second I've got her undressed.

And as for standards, a 4 looks like a 7 when you haven't gotten off in over a week. Likewise 7+s look like fucking goddesses and approaching them actually makes me anxious when I'm off fapping. But when I am I give off a no-fucks-given vibe that seems to be much more attractive to women.

So if not doing it actually does "something powerful" for some people then it seems I am not among them.

[–]throwaway-aa2 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

As somebody without a girlfriend who goes out every now and then to score, I rely on masturbation to keep my standards and stamina in check.

Well that's different. I've advocated to men before to masturbate if they come too fast, which is fair.

The standards thing... that's interesting. See when I don't masturbate, I don't give a fuck no matter how pretty (well at least 9 and below). I mean if it works for you, all the best though. But I think a lot of guys identify with the way I'm talking about.

[–]bigyellowtwinki 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I suspect that it is supposed to be that way. For one thing, getting horny at lesser attractive women is an evolutionary advantage since all your body wants to do is spread your seed. Second, most women are not that attractive naturally, it is only recently with modern medications (think of all the small pox victims from history with the scar tissue), and the cosmetic industry that your average woman can be fairly decent. NoFap is a natural beer goggles and actually helps open up massive avenues of new women you wouldn't touch with a stick when you fap regularly.

[–]1xwm 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That is because horror is not caused by dopamine resistance like other addictive behaviors. You can, however be desensitized to violence. Just look at /b/ sometime and see how people have to find increasingly grotesque things just to get a rise out of each other. (Which gives them a dopamine kick and makes them look for something more extreme)

[–]Jack--Hammer 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Actually, while you may consciously think to yourself "it's just a movie, it's just a movie, ghosts aren't real" your brain actually reacts to fake visual stimuli (dreams, movies, video games) the same way as real visual stimuli. That's why you react with horror to horror movies, or wake up with your heart pounding from a nightmare. You tell yourself it wasn't real, but your brain has already had the emotional reaction and have already been thusly minutely altered.

Whatever you believe the effects to be, personally, I see as little of a point in allowing my mind to absorb, react to and get used to fake negative stimuli as I would the real negative stimuli. I don't want to be eaten by a demon, see someone get shot to pieces or masturbate watching another man having sex in real life, so I see no point in soiling my mind with the fantasy just because it's fake.

This stuff can work. If you are accustomed to hyperstimulus, your neurological system will respond to the lack of hyperstimulus by becoming more sensitive to the regular version of that stimulus. This happens in nature. Simplified example: If a bird is programmed by its genes to protect big blue eggs, it will ignore its real blue eggs and protect bigger bluer fake eggs.

It costs your body things to create seamen, if you don't spill it, it reabsorbs. The taoists have been on to this for a looong time. Nofap will be great for some.

Alot of excessive masturbation has to do with how much free time you have. Yeah cutting back is a good thing, but if you don't have anything to do you will eventually slip back into old habits. This also applies to drugs.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I did 100 days of NoFap as an experiment and noticed that 7 day increments are no different than 100 days. Watching porn is far more detrimental because it is simply time-consuming. Fapping with porn can take an hour or more - using your imagination and inspiration takes 10-15 minutes. Having the discipline to exercise moderation in fapping is good practice. Being an obsessive jerk hound or a Puritanical fap-Pharisee are both unnecessary extremes.

[–]Red_Shirt_Blue_Pants 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Just watch some of gary wilsons videos, or look up "the pleasure trap" Ted talk. Don't let shitty messengers ruin the message.

Dude think about it intellectually... not all the knowledge there is in this world is going to be made available by RedPill minds.

You have to learn to not associate with the personality or faults of your teachers... you take what you need, and you get rid of the rest. I've learned from many people who I don't respect...

You don't have to take it seriously, just TRY IT. Most people can't go without porn for a good amount of time (which is the sign of addiction, and we men shouldn't be willingly addicted to anything), so just fucking try it. You'll either agree or disagree.

I've found it wholeheartedly works. I think some people have high sex drives but the more I masturbate, the less "alpha" I will act on a whole. The drive to masturbate / have sex is so powerful, not doing it forces it to redirect that power in the direction of something else...that's just my experience.

Sorry bro, nothing personal, but if I go on trying everything every random stranger on the internet tells me to do, I won't have much time to do anything else. Thanks for being rational though, you have the sense to admit that it's just your experience and opinion, and that's something hard to find among most of your NoFap peers.

[–]throwaway-aa2 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

if I go on trying everything every random stranger on the internet tells me to do, I won't have much time to do anything else.

Sorry but this is exaggerating, don't deceive yourself.

You're downplaying the advice of people on the internet labeling them as "random strangers".... what's the criteria for that labeling? Surely "strangers" isn't really deserving, as every one of you fucking RedPillers are strangers to me, but I've gained immense help and a grasp on areas of my life thanks to these strangers. Stranger is just a way of you dismissing something. Furthermore, a mark of an intelligent person is someone who can filter the signal from the noise. There's a lot of ways to do that, but generally speaking I have a "circle of trust" in the sense that I have sources or just general sources of information... and depending on the argument I can be swayed to check something out if advocated on a singular case by case, or if a number of people in this "circle of trust" advocate for it. TheRedPill is probably one of the more intellectually oriented "circles of trust" I frequent, and to be honest once you filter out the anger posts, the actual amount of "try this" suggestions really isn't that much to warrant a "well I won't have much time to do if I listen to this small list of TRP suggestions".

The list of things people generally have advocated for in this subreddit is pretty succinct. Lift, everything that monk mode encapsulates, talk to strangers & women, spin plates, dress nice, educate yourself... that's excluding the situation specific advice. So no I don't really agree with your dismissal of /r/nofap as just something a random stranger suggested to you, that's not really an intellectual way of looking at it, especially seeing the regularity of your posts on Reddit (which means you heard about /r/nofap more than once or twice).

Thanks for being rational though, you have the sense to admit that it's just your experience and opinion, and that's something hard to find among most of your NoFap peers.

I mean that's fine but given my previous post that's a little bit of a cop out. Experience and opinion are relevant... hell you can't base most of what we know here on TRP strictly on science and hard evidence... so reoccurring themes and trust of the source are important. I'm not suggesting it's my experience and opinion that it works so that you can say "well it's your experience, it might not be mine". I say that so you can say "hey I tried it out for a week, here is how my experience relates to yours". One way is an intellectual way, one is not.

And lastly:

Sorry bro, nothing personal, but if I go on trying everything every random stranger on the internet tells me to do, I won't have much time to do anything else.

It's not so much telling you what to do, it's telling you what NOT to do. It takes zero time to not fap....so while your point of view certainly is impressive "sounding", it doesn't really hold up upon closer inspection

The idea of being desensitized to neurotransmitters by instagratifying through any available outlet is very interesting. I wonder if there's any research on it. Maybe floods cause MAO to build up and once the gratification is gone the dopamine gets torn up almost instantly? I remember reading that salvia actually drops dopamine levels instead of raising it.

I loved NoFap. Obviously, a lot is written about giving up porn, which is great. However, I think actually giving up masturbating is important too.

I have a friend who works on smoking cessation studies. Often, the hardest part is giving up smoking, per se, but realizing/avoiding the triggers that lead to having a cigarette.

NoFap was amazing for reorienting my relationship with jacking off. I could make a list, but they all have to do with procrastinating on something challenging that I didn't want to do and pure boredom. Kind of like reaching for a quick smoke, because that's how I deal with things, I thought critically about what/why I masturbated.

I'll get off my soap box.

Superpowers are basically sexually energy going upwards and being reflected through the eyes. These vibrant eyes create etheric attraction .It just creates attraction and your physical body doesnt have a clue about this.

[–]Kaelteth 2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Attraction, or the shimmer of desperation?

Are the words your eyes are speaking "Hey, I haven't ejaculated in the last 17 weeks! I'm so desperate to get off that I'd even fuck you"

Two things will cause ED if you are young, death grip and being an out of shape fat fuck or skinnyfat loser. As soon as I started lifting and got into better shape my issues went away. I now both have sex and masturbate more often than before.

This is yet another reason why it is INCREDIBLY important for you to lift weights hardcore.

Does anyone know what mental activities are Ok or not ok when it comes to this dopamine depletion thing? Apparently porn is off. Someone was hinting at reading too much news/information overload, but how about reading a book or something less exciting?

[–]Red_Shirt_Blue_Pants 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Video games, movies and it also depends on what you're reading. If its heavy in erotica then obviously that'll be a negative

[–]cofair 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Scrolling though reddit top posts clicking clicking clicking is mentally draining for me but reading a research paper or a fiction book is mentally invigorating.

[–]godstriker8 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I tried it a couple times. I always get a few weeks in, and then stop because I get frustrated with feeling the exact same as before. Never got any "superpowers".

I think a better way of thinking about nofap is in relationship to the Stanford Marshmallow experiment. From Wikipedia:

The Stanford marshmallow experiment[1] was a series of studies on delayed gratification in the late 1960s and early 1970s led by psychologist Walter Mischel, then a professor at Stanford University. In these studies, a child was offered a choice between one small reward provided immediately or two small rewards if they waited for a short period: approximately 15 minutes, during which the tester leave the room and then return. (The reward was sometimes a marshmallow, but often a cookie or a pretzel.) In follow-up studies, the researchers found that children who were able to wait longer for the preferred rewards tended to have better life outcomes, as measured by SAT scores,[2] educational attainment,[3] body mass index (BMI),[4] and other life measures.

I think if you master nofap, you're training yourself for future success and this has nothing to do with avoiding desensitization of your equipment or testosterone levels.

Don't you think there can be better, more productive ways to train your willpower? Like, studying for longer hours? Avoiding overuse of the internet? Exercising every day? Trying to learn a new skill or instrument?

Honestly, if you're straining so fucking hard just to make it to the next day without masturbating, you're definitely distracting yourself from the real goals in your life that would actually make you a better person.

[–]frameintegrity 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

The problem is "It feels good man." Orgasms are inherently addictive. When you "self-medicate" you can do it too much. Other than the Internet, everything else there pales in comparison.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Really? Studying for 12 hours every day for 3 months for my final year uni exams was the hardest task I've ever done. I got my internet disconnected during that time spent the entire day in the library, studying. I don't think it pales in comparison to anything.

And what's wrong with feeling good? Don't you have a chocolate pie or sweets of any kind every once in a while? Why would you want to deprive yourself of every pleasure only because it feels good? And what about sex? Won't you ever have sex in your life because you fear you might get addicted to orgasms?

[–]frameintegrity 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm not talking about difficulty, I'm talking about addiction. Studying is indeed hard but very few people will think of it as something they do out of an addictive habit. Khan Academy has to invent new methods of quantifying progress with games and other incentives to keep you coming back to do it---very few people who like to masturbate need to be convinced that they need to do it. The Internet itself is an infinite source of novelty for the mind, and very few people need to be convinced that they need to push F5 once in a while to refresh the page for the next new thing. Did you have your Internet disconnected so that you should study more or was it disconnected in an unrelated way?

There isn't anything wrong with feeling good, I'm addressing the idea that for many people, fapping is an addictive behavior that has to be managed not unlike what a smoker needs to do to quit smoking or a diabetic with a carb-heavy diet needs to do to quit their need for excessive carbohydrates. Nofap to me isn't about depriving pleasure, it's about training discipline and finding other benefits for your life, like studying or lifting or anything else that'll buy leverage your SMV. I don't know if nofapping increases your pheromones or whatever, I just know that once you achieve the habit, the motivational framework for achieving anything else gets stronger if you can isolate the skill/feeling of having control over the "want for an activity" so that you can transfer that skill to anything else in life that is hard to do. You're not "leveling up" because you denied yourself pleasure, you're leveling up because you have decided how you're going to direct your action in the short term.

If everything in your life centers around how you have successfully nofapped for 356 consecutive days without anything else to show for it, you have only replaced one addiction for another.

[–]HAMMURABl 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

sure there are other ways, but the harder it is, the more it gives.

imagine you smoke weed and meth each day, and want to train your willpower. you aren't really training your willpower by dropping weed but still getting your dopamine kick from meth every day.

[–]lesslibido 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Interesting point. Definitely trains for delayed gratification discipline. I'd say it does that AND desensitizes a nofapper to real life. Double prizes.

[–]Flimflamification 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

As a member of nofap I use it as one of many platforms to improve within myself. For me I feel like I have more energy which I can channel into working out, meditating and having fun sober. It certainly has its benefits. I dont think masturbating is wrong. I think porn is fucking up alot of peoples brain chemistry and I feel sorry for the future generations. There are alot of blue pilled people on nofap who put girls in crazy pedestals. I created a post on nofap with a list of subreddits that go well with nofap including the redpill. Its a shame alot of people thought the redpill was full of shit.

[–]knechtigerknecht10 points 11 years ago [recovered] (1 child) | Copy Link

I barely use reddit for anything but trp/asktrp/trpgame anymore. I've never been a big fan of reddit tbh. Every other subreddit (or at least girls/feminists/whiteknights of those subreddits) call us rapists for whatever reason.

I feel like I'm back in 2011, on a sea of piss.

[–]HAMMURABl 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

on a fun note, i mainly surfed on 4chans b. then i found theredpill, and began to surf this site. it didn't seem at all like the cancer and faggotry that 4chan described reddit to be.

took me a few weeks to realize there were other subreddits than theredpill here, and they were quite a bit different.

[–]Jooceyjooce 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Nofap is fucking retarded. If you're so weak minded that you can't stop touching your dick, then you have more wrong with you than simply ceasing masturbation will ever fix. The base problem is impulsiveness and a lack of social awareness that would allow you to meet your needs otherwise. Get this bandaid post the fuck out of here. Nofap is literally the most pathetic neckbeard sub on this site.

[–]BadJokeHour 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

been saying this for a while now. no fap and red pill have a lot in common in terms of getting women and improving oneself. glad to see a cross post between the two - they're my two favorite subs

[–]Kaelteth 5 points6 points7 points 11 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

And I honestly see (almost) nothing in common between TRP and NoFap.

One is about self improvement. The other is about denying one's own sexuality.

I agree that porn can get out of control, but to suggest there's something wrong with rubbing one out is to deny a piece of who we are. Whether it's intended this way or not, it's another case where a segment of society is shaming male sexuality. That alone makes it a "movement" I would never consider supporting.

Fuck. That. Shit.

Now, I will state, if you legitimately have an addiction that is interfering in your life, that's a different story. But otherwise, spank it 50 times a day if you're still going out and fucking too...who the fuck cares?

The benefits are imagined, T-levels don't magically rise, and studies suggest that getting off regularly is good for the prostate. Fap away brothers!!!

[–]BadJokeHour 3 points4 points5 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

/r/nofap was created for and is aimed for people with debilitating porn addictions. so yes, the "different story" you're referring to is for those people. the benefits aren't imagined for people like myself who struggle with these porn addictions - they're real, and you are extremely ignorant to suggest otherwise especially considering you've never been in our shoes.

[–]Red_Shirt_Blue_Pants 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

You're wrong. Fapping often decreases T levels, therefore keeping this habit in moderation allows you to experience a rise in T levels.

This isn't shaming men. Fapping does nothing positive for you. Go and actually get laid

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Where did you read this? Bro-science weekly?

[–]Red_Shirt_Blue_Pants -1 points0 points1 point 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

No, countless scientific studies that showed a precise relationship between T levels and frequency in masturbating.

[–]Red_Shirt_Blue_Pants -1 points0 points1 point 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

But since you're obviously so educated on the subject, care to show some evidemce backing your claim in the falsehood of this method?

Am I? You're the one making absurd claims. I'm only asking for you to back them up with something concrete.

It'd be pertinent for you to actually post a link to one of the "countless scientific studies that showed a precise relationship between T levels and frequency in masturbating".
