One huge thing that seperates the kind of #1man people like to talk to vs the #1man people don't like to talk to. Is knowing how to speak to your audience. Some people go out and do things only to brag about them.

You don't need to brag, as you speak with someone else you share stories naturally, or if asked begin directly. Some people jump right into talking about themselves and only really turn people off towards them.

The Renaissance Man is deep game and long term frame. #2 can use PUA tactics and can do very well but the RM (#1) will have game and frame that can carry him for decades. It is just a short term/long term reward equation. Do what you want with it

Good post. A problem I have and I'm sure many others - women don't have the same standards for themselves. As such the more you improve yourself the less attractive, interesting they become in comparison. My worst dates are the ones where IDGAF because she is so lazy, myopic, naive. Not a problem but a side effect. example: I just finished reading a book by Richard Dawkins (The Selfish Gene -- recommended on TRP) and can't imagine any bitch on the planet that I want to fuck that I can actually talk to it about. #RedPillProblems

We've had a couple posts mention traveling to India recently, and I want to say that I am in complete agreement. Women love exotic adventure stories - and bringing up how different the power dynamics are between eastern and western cultures will provoke their feminism while subconsciously turning on their submissive nature. A friend of mine pulls out a couple of stories from his time in Nepal whenever he wants to guarantee a trip back to his apartment with some chick.

Tim Ferris book about how to cook is a must read if you intend to learn skills quickly.

As stated in his book, becoming a master takes plenty of time, you can however learn to become good at it. Learn how to learn and apply that to a million things in your life. You will soon be in the 80 percentile, if not more.

Well you landed a very good point here. I always liked history and used to read a lot of it, my favorite reads were always about Imperial Rome and Italian Renaissance. I once read this in a book about Cesar Borgia and I've always remembered: He was a man of the time, a time where a person was encouraged to explore his humanity and become the person he wanted to be without limits and everyone encouraged this with the greatest of efforts, now our society employs the same effort destroying the personality of people.

It wasn't textually like that but that was roughly it. The point is a person should explore as many things as he possibly can in order to better understand the world and himself. That is exactly what enriches our lives. Good post!

Man #1 loves life and wants to enjoy every aspect that appeals to him in the full. Man #2 is looking for validation from anyone, primarily women who might sleep with him.

I hope this doesn't get lost, I love the concept and it resonates with me. I am on the track to becoming my own version of the renaissance man you've outlined. But I see an interesting issue with this.

Man #1 is internally validated and own mastery to his own world. Man #2 can own up to the same, perhaps that is all he cares to be satisfied with.

SMV related to both of them...actual SMV we could say Man #1 is higher than Man #2....on a "Man" scale. On a Woman's scale the SMV of Man #1 Vs. Man #2 might not have a big differentiator. They judge men on a whole different set of criteria, tingles now? Frame, social status, etc.

The perceived SMV of either Man will vary by woman and context.

We should strive to be Man #1. However, in the effect of perceived SMV both these guys could be on the same level playing field...for a while.

The question I pose is this: How does one aiming to be a modern day renaissance man DHV when the quality of girls aren't at your level?

It's not about women. The one thing most missed in this thread is living like man #1 will result in a better quality of living later in life. That doesn't mean he will be rich, famous, well liked by others, or something along those lines. It means he will be a very different man when he is in his 40s to his 60s than man #2.

Different how then? Life experience is a harsh but wonderful teacher. #1 will have a different view of people, the world, and everything in it, and a greater understanding which he can utilize or at least amuse him. There is a reason he is interesting, he built not only himself but his life as well. He has done things most never will, been places most never see, and therefore can do things the vast majority of people who stayed safe during their lives simply can't do.

It's far more than a trip to India, but damn that is a great place to start. My personal adventure began with moving to Germany in 1989, 8 months before the Berlin Wall came down. I knocked a large chunk off and still have it all these years later. I managed to be either in the midst of history happening, or in a very different place when historical events unfolded. I was in Kuwait City in September 2001, ten years after my first visit to the country. These things don't make me interesting, or my life vastly better on their own, it's everything else I did between those world events and since that has given a different view of the world.

My brother is similar, he has done things most can only dream about doing. We build fast cars, he flies helicopters for a living, we both have property around 1000 miles from where we grew up and split our time between there and home. We have nearly circled the northern hemisphere, traveled to far off locations, lived in various countries. He didn't learn the languages, I picked up enough to get around in those countries, and to get laid or slapped, usually both. C8ntrast that with the oldest, he hasn't done shit, hasn't gone anywhere, has no interesting stories to tell, and he blends in to the seething masses where the younger and I stand out from the crowd.

I've had people on reddit read about my life and say the want to be like me, own and build vintage cars, able to lift bare iron V8 engine blocks and carry them across the shop, pick up Russian, German, or Korean girls easily, know how to fly a light plane, produce ethanol fuel for my vehicles, building my home by hand, and have a wide range of experience. I can think of better ways to get where I am faster and with less danger, but it's been interesting. You might want to know the same things, or be capable of similar things, but you don't want to be me.

Be smarter than I was, you'll be far ahead of where I am in twenty years when you reach my age. Take risks, don't always travel the safe path. I chose safe and easy far too often, I could be much better off than I am. Learn more than I did, jump out of more planes than I did if you want great stories to remember.

The stories and memories are for you to enjoy, others might like them, it might make you interesting, but you live like a so called renaissance man for your benefit.
