I dont know what you should be doing but I can tell you what I regret.

When I was around 22 or so I met a girl that was kind and warm and incredibly beautiful and had a sense of humor and I am pretty sure she was a virgin, intact family, respect for her father and she wanted me.

Not only was I too stupid to get that, I also pursued a raging slut because I did not know the difference.

When I think back of the shy ways she tried to make me make a move, I would like to travel back in time and kick my ass, because she was as close to a unicorn that a girl can get.

If I could, I would trade all the sloars I banged for a life with her.

So, if you use all this RP knowledge to wade through a sea of BS and entirely unworthy skanks, there are a few that are worth the hassle and if you find one go for it and hold nothing back.

Those are so incredibly few and far between and you meet less and less each year goes by....

You need to be thinking of the ultimate masculine goal - freedom. A great job is fine and dandy, but you should be thinking about long term wealth and what it will take to build up a financial fortress where you don't have to work. Work therefore becomes a choice, you are not dependent on your job to keep your home or lifestyle.

Obviously, reading everything you can about finances and career advice, as well as people skills / psychology, is something worth doing. I wish I had done this.

I love my job, but I one day want to have enough invested and growing that I don't have to work. I'm 29 - I think by 45-50 I could reach this point. If I had known what I know now at 22, I would be able to reach this point by maybe 35-40.

The other thing I would do is at 22 I would have been networking my ass off. Friends and mentors, anyone who wants to get to know you in a personal or professional context... it is worth it. Unless they are toxic / leeches, in which case get them out of your network, because it reflects badly on you.

Edit: Also, you'll notice I said nothing about girls. It's because it doesn't matter at all. At 30 is it going to matter if I fucked 100 girls in my 22nd year or 10 or 1, no. Yet at 22 that is like 50% of what was on my mind. As 50 Cent says, don't chase the hoes, chase paper because they come with the shit. That is very hard to understand when you are 22 and figuring "I have no money yet and I'm fucking girls, it's no problem." Yes, you can get laid as a somewhat broke dude, but it's just so much more easy and efficient when you are high SMV and loaded. So in your 20s, focus on SMV rather than relationships. Just satiate yourself with ONS and low drama plates, and don't take it too seriously. When your SMV peaks, that is when the high quality women will come.

I don't know. I'm 29 and I've been pretty RP since I was 20 even without knowing that "Red Pill" was a thing.

I started working out like a mad man in my second year of college. That resulted in my confidence soaring. I was always a scrawny guy that just thought the jock types were naturally muscular and I just wasn't and never could be. But I was wrong. In just a matter of months I got amazing results because I ate nutritious food, drank a lot of protein shakes, and worked out 6 days a week.

I noticed that guys started to defer to me. I was seen as a leader because of my physical stature and my confidence. Attractive girls that never looked at me noticed and started giving me attention. I even noticed that other guys were intimidated by me, or at least saw me as an equal, as a man that could do damage. This was a revelation as I never had that growing up and I realized that how I was seen in the world depended on how I carried myself. I now understood that my life was in my control and I could be respected as a man if I worked at it.

That to me is what Red Pill is all about. It's understanding that life is in your control and it's up to you to be the best man you can be.

Of course I wasn't always RP with women, that takes practice and experience but I was on the path from age 20 to today.

I think that it's very important that those of us that have experienced a tragedy or whatever you'll call it, identify and illustrate it. I can't give number to the times I've heard the pitfalls on here explained and from that understood that it was a behavior and not happenstance. It makes a world of difference. It's like a walkthrough that illustrates the pitfalls of everyday life in the western world. At least one aspect of it. Though, from this, I've realized how much of the rest of life this applies to.

If I got into TRP in my early 20s, my life would probably be radically different. To start, I wouldn't have spent so much time, money, and mental stress on a woman outside of the country that would prove to fuck over my finances and emotions for some years. Especially when I had a woman at home, at the time, that I was also fucking. I just... chased the bigger prize? I don't even fucking know.

Anyway, to summarize, women would have been a very very low priority in my life. Get money, get money, get money, get money. That's all I would have done. The years of 20-25 are some of the best years for either a: getting a lot of pussy, or b: making the right moves to be enjoying your late 20s in a way that most adults don't experience until their 30s or 40s. Obviously the best course of action is a mix of A and B, but how many men manage to avoid the pitfalls (remaining a bachelor being key here, as many of us learned the hard way) and do that? Not many at all... at least, not enough.

Most industries require what, really... 2-5 really shitty years of your life, before you've paid enough dues to actually rise above the poverty line and be able to enjoy the benefits of middle class life?

That would have been it for me, up until and into my late 20s... instead of... the zig-zag and sometimes circular nature of my past so far.

Don't rest. Can afford one bachelor pad? Afford two. Rent out the second and make some more money. Whatever it takes to make sure 30+ is smoooooooooooth as butter.

These days, retiring early is easier than it has ever been.

edit: I think /u/rporion touched on a little soft spot within all of us. I met that girl when I was 17. We don't keep in touch per se, because she in all her unicorn glory knows what I do to her, and knows what would happen if we were alone for any length of time. The man she married she was LTR'd with for years... I (we?) danced too close to the line of her infidelity too many times. That said, we still talk every couple months.

Fixed my tooth decay, vitamin d deficiency, and sleep apnea as soon as I had an inkling that things weren't quite right.

Tried harder to master basic bodyweight exercises like pushups and pullups, instead of letting guys rag on me for not being able to do them "haha you hump the floor when you do pushups." (more of a high school thing)

Not fall for an LTR in college for starters, then I would have worked my SMV better especially after my band got signed MTV etc.

What you should be doing is meeting people/groups and socializing while also focusing on yourself. Find men and women that are into similar hobbies and invite them to things. You need to expand the social circle.
