Well we all know the data on the gender ratio. That has an impact on the broader dynamics at play. The name of the game for guys is to get through each level. First is the match, then the date, then the sex. That's the goal because that second date likely ain't happening.

It's not really always something wrong with the guy, it's that dating apps have created choice overload. Yes that's an actual thing. Similar issue with streaming services. How one spends more time looking for something to watch than actually watching. Why risk your time getting to know a guy when you have the chance to do it all over? It's an interesting psychological nugget.

When I was a kid I used to play those Madden games. They had this feature where you could create your own rosters and play a season with that favorite team with players you wanted. But I noticed something. It was addictive as hell. Because after like one game I'd be like, nah start over because I kinda wanna have this other lineup now. Or maybe the team I created was too good and it got boring.

I couldn't even play a full season of games with one team because I could simply scrap the whole thing for something new and exciting. I thought it'd be cool to take my own custom team all the way to the end of the virtual season. But I never got there. I was spoiled for choices and the addiction to the thrill would override the end goal of the game.

As you can imagine, I reached a point eventually where the patterns were so obvious I realized none of this did anything for me. But that's how dating apps work for women. If you're lucky, you're that roster. But that's it, one or two games and she'll decide yeah this one's pretty good. But what if I could have something new and different?
