I came here originally after following cross-posted link from /r/MensRights, a sub I visit out of concerns I have for the future of my newborn son. I was a lurker here for a long time, and only recently made attempts at posting.

I say "attempts" because I realized that I had absolutely nothing in common with the main types of posters on this sub. Those types of posters are, specifically:

  • Sexually frustrated men (usually younger men);
  • Bitter divorced men/fathers (usually older).

Further, I had nothing to add to the main topics of this sub, which I recognize to be:

  • Having sex with as many women as possible;
  • Don't get married;
  • Don't be a "beta boy."

I'm going to share my personal opinion with you people before I avoid the door on my ass on the way out - take it for what it's worth:

  • A two parent, heterosexual family is the basic building block of a well-functioning society. Period. We've tried various combinations for thousands of years, and have arrived here - for better or worse.

  • Alpha males - real alpha males (not the tail-chasing boobs populating this sub) are the ones who get to pass on their genes. Period. Darwinism is the law of the land, and "survival of the fittest" doesn't mean you run around sticking your rubber-clad dick into insecure, easily manipulated women with daddy issues in order to validate your place in the world and make up for the fact that people walk all over you socially.

  • The vast majority of you have confused "game" with being an alpha male. I know plenty of guys who are serial Lotharios, yet are dumb-as-shit, socially inept luddites in every other aspect where it matters.

I'll leave you with this: The "best" males are not the "master plate spinners" with a penchant for clever banter and a goddamned gym membership.

The "best" men are those who are pillars of their community - who are of strong character; who are persons of integrity and stand for what is right. I will quote Augustus C. Buell, who summarized the views of John Paul Jones in "The Qualifications of a Naval Officer":

"It is by no means enough that an officer of the Navy should be a capable mariner. He must be that, of course, but also a great deal more. He should be as well a gentleman of liberal education, refined manners, punctilious courtesy, and the nicest sense of personal honor.

He should be the soul of tact, patience, justice, firmness, kindness, and charity. No meritorious act of a subordinate should escape his attention or be left to pass without its reward, even if the reward is only a word of approval.
