At some point in time she was the book who was checked out and checked back in many times by many men but now that book got old and dusty and no one wants to check it out anymore.

To be a book that I can't stop reading, it's incumbent upon the *book* to be so well-written, exciting, great plot and characters, etc. etc. as to hold my interest through to the final page. IOW, it's entirely a reflection on the book, and very little on the reader if he chooses to put it down after a single chapter or stays for the whole book.

Somehow, I'm betting she never accepted that part of the analogy.

Just from her grammar in the post, there’s no way this woman ‘reads’ as much as she’s implying or in the context she’s referencing. People who are well-read don’t type or say things like “not perfect by no means” (double negative) or “love to travel read and spend time with family” (not even an Oxford comma).
