I bet if you asked her what she thinks of slavery she'll get upset and lecture you on how abominable and disgusting it is to force someone to work against their will without giving anything in return. She'll go on to say that anyone who's ever owned slaves deserves to die or be thrown in jail along with their family members and kids. She'll then smile, proud of her values and for standing up for the rights of other people.

The modern woman is quite the interesting conundrum. Without strictly enforced social roles that have kept her true nature in check for millennia, her personality unfolds into an incomprehensible spaghetti of equal parts NPC and wild animal. Like a wild animal, she seeks to satisfy her own desires at any cost; regardless of the consequences to herself, or to those around her. Like an NPC, she spouts whatever opinion or stance is commonly accepted or is most likely to make others see her in a positive light, particularly those that defend an oppressed minority; which make her gain social fame.

Because her behavior and speech only come into play when: a.) she has something personal to gain or b.) makes others have a good opinion of her

...she is incapable of recognizing inconsistencies when these two natures contradict each other. She's not able to realize her own hypocrisy, because none of her own behavior requires analysis or critical thinking. This woman, when confronted about how hypocritical it is that she thinks slavery is terrible yet she desires what literally amounts to a slave, will probably nonetheless "defend" her viewpoint. This "defense" (if one can call it that) will most likely consist of incoherent screeching, insults and/or shaming. Unsurprisingly, she reacts emotionally because... well... her stance on any given subject depends purely on factors driven by emotion. Everything she believes, says, and does is commanded by her feelings - that is - her desire to satisfy herself, or her desire for people to like her.

She is unable to synthesize a rational response to justify her opinion because she's never had to think about it.

Consequently, this means that she also can't be convinced that she's wrong, as that would require her to think prior to taking her stance.

This is why, in her mind; it is acceptable for her to enslave a man while simultaneously being against slavery. She benefits from having a slave, as well as from people knowing she's against slavery. Since she already benefits from both, there is no further need to "think".

As a result, it's you who has the problem with her. It makes perfect sense to her since she benefits from both; therefore it's your fault that you find it hypocritical.
