I'm sure piling on all the blame on young men will work out well for everyone. In the future expect more articles about the increasing number of single mothers, the increasing numbers of childless women and the increasing number of young men who check the fuck out of society.

Also a quick reminder that in the last 70 years women aborted more people than all people killed in all wars in recorded human history. It's hard for average guys to compete with women being so selective on their picky dating demands (yet still somehow winding up with jobless losers and belt-notching douchebags) thanks to online dating service where most guys don't even get a second glance.

Ironically, despite men being labeled horny sex addicts, more men are realizing that jumping through all the hoops in today's world with women especially those in their prime years is a lot of work for actually little payoff that you couldn't get from jacking off or going with an escort. If you do "win" you're just as likely to get an unfaithful, demanding, nagging, time&money monopolizer than a loving supportive partner. And if you're really "lucky" you get a wife who will divorce you and take your money and kids 5 years down the road.

Society thinks men are stupid and that we don't see patterns. We see in the news powerful men being brought down by accusations or taken to the cleaners by their ex-wives. We see in our personal life friends, family members, co-workers, acquaintances get treated poorly. We ourselves often have our own personal experiences. With the internet allowing men to share these experiences, we compare notes and come to similar conclusions hence these results.

I think it's both, and then some. MGTOW is good, because at least the man is making a choice. However, a significant portion of the male population is basically incel. With hypergamy openly encouraged and celebrated, this appears to be getting worse within the past few years. A lot of men just want someone to be with and to validate their existence. Head on over to Braincels every now and then if you want to read some truly heartbreaking posts.

I don't know if it is ignorance of the root of the problem or if it is a willful avoidance of addressing the elephant in the room, but they said nothing as to the real reasons why this is occurring. Given the author appears to be younger, I cannot grant the excuse that it is generational ignorance, but keep in mind that the blue pill mentality still exists, do ignorance cannot be ruled out.

If the author is indeed aware, he is doing no service in obscuring this information. Given that it is the Washington Post he is writing for, I see no incentive for him to admit that the problem lies in hypergamy, a lack of quality women worth settling down for (thus a lack of motivation for men), and degradation of marriage. All of these factors will indeed lead to less sex among the young, especially men, since they see no point in pursuing women that are either unwilling to forego the carousel ride or are not worth providing commitment. When you see these factors for men not pursuing relationships, you can also understand why they would similarly be less interested in also pursuing sex.

And on the topic of pursuing sex, the 80/20 rule is demonstrated with a lot of young men staying thirsty while a small group of men have the most success. This certainly explains at least part of the disparity where more young men are sexless compared to women.

The truth is not convenient, nor is it profitable for the Washington Post target audience. So it is not surprising that it is completely ignored here.
