edit whoops, title should be "Coming home after trip"

Tl;dr wife gets stressed out when I'm gone. How to best get back to normal when the captain's back?

I travel about for work about once a month. Currently. I've been on the road for 7 days, returning Friday night. This is longer than most of my trips. Wife is SAHM and always--always--has trouble when I'm gone. Since I swallowed the pill about 6 months ago, she's made some real improvements in herself as well (lost 20 lbs so far, etc.), but the house, 3 kids, and pets still overwhelm her. She constantly loses frame with the kids.

Over the last week I've received panicked text messages about rushing a kid to Urgent Care (it was literally nothing, she overreacted and panicked), a dog that got out of the house at night and she had to spend 20 minutes chasing, kids making a mess in the house and not cleaning up (I had also hired a cleaning service to come this week since. I was gone), etc. Small stuff, but stuff that's overwhelming her without me there.

Normally I would have engaged more over text, but having stepped in a big ole pile of manure more than once, I've taken the advice about texting for logistics only to heart. I called her after these texts to make sure things were ok, but that was it. No comforting, commiserating, and so forth.

She's going to be a stressed out wreck when I get home.

Two questions:

What's the best way to respond to complaining texts when I'm out of town and unavailable to do anything?

And then, what's the best way For me to get things back to normal quickly. Usually when I come home after a longer trip, it can take days for her to get back to normal. I'll add that sex is completely off the table until she gets her wits back.

What's the best way for a captain to come back home after an absence?
