I have to preface this with I personally am not interested in a second marriage for obvious reasons. But I ultimately will be interested in a LTR at some point in the future where I fully intend to own my shit. I can (and do) spin plates but don't find it all that fulfilling compared to having someone I know well and whose company I consistently enjoy. Call me a faggot if you must.

Stats in the U.S. show 50% of first marriages end in divorce and 64% of second marriages end in divorce. Even further, 74% of third marriages end in divorce. A clear upward trend.

In a sense, this is an opinion poll, but why do you guys think that is?

From my own perspective, and much in thanks to TRP, I feel that my vetting process is better AND that I am more capable and willing to own my shit.

Even without TRP, you would think people in general would learn SOMETHING useful from their previous failures.

Is it possibly that people are less willing to try and work at their relationships having a more visceral sense of the failure of a marriage? In other words, are they less likely to put up with bullshit and more willing to pull the trigger on divorce because they've done it before and it's not such a big deal?

I'd rather not be so cynical but the numbers don't lie.
