Some recent posts regarding wives with anxiety issues got me thinking and I wanted to put this out there :

wife is anxious, has an anxious personality , sometimes gaslights in front of just me with " you always, you never" etc. she also has grown up in situations where her anxiety was encouraged / used as a valid tactic.

( she is on meds, pursuing further treatment with a shrink for better control )

Since we had our main event ( or as near to one as I can think of) she has been a lot better with self control, and with dealing with her loss of control - specifically apologizing 10-30 min later etc.

Setting hard boundaries has helped ie just simple, things like "that is not appropriate" " walking away or mostly just looking at her and calling her out on whatever the behavior is at the moment calmly.

She has said to me on several occasions that she wishes she could be calm like I am, in terms of "fix what you can, and dont worry about the rest" mentality I have always had.

She is doing better with it as I get more captaincy back in day to day things, but there are life events / times where I have to share some stress with her for FYI reasons and she will not sleep at night and talk to me about "what are we going to do" etc for hours.
She also will acknowledge that she knows I will take care of it "because you always do babe" et cetera

Are there any specific things that have worked for anxious wives to help them calm down especially when they "know" its going to be ok, by both virtue of experience and by the fact that there is nothing they can do to help anyway.
