I included this in my OYS which is probably the wrong area. Here it is:

My main concern now is work and lack of vision or mission. I was a one man show graphic designer/illustrator for about 25 years. Didnt get rich but paid the bills and was my own boss and enjoyed the work. Long story short, that work is not nearly as abundant as it was, and, i didnt promote myself enough to keep it coming, so i got a full time gig.

My boss is a woman, control freak. Creativity is minimal, its mostly production work. And its at a university. I dont believe in the product im selling and really dont know if i want to do this design bullshit anymore. My heart aint in it. And i sure as fuck dont like having a boss. Least of all this bitch. There are perks--gym is cheap and a block away. Hot college ass to look at. Low pressure most of the time. Insurance good. I can learn some new skills on the uni's dime which i could use to possibly get a design job somewhere else. I just feel like im working with the walking dead. If one of my goals is to reduce debt, do i stay in this industry for another ten years? The thought makes my gut tense in fear. I want to build something that's mine. Something i can put my heart into. But...

...going back to school=more debt. Starting a business=more debt and possible failure.

I have to make a certain amount to keep paying shit off so id hate to take a pay cut. But this job stuff, especially in an industry that is increasingly dead to me just doent seem where i belong now. Clearly, I'm running around in circles. I need a plan of action because right now im stuck. And indulging in self pity and fear. Im asking you guys if you can offer me a way to get to a decision point. Not asking you to tell me what to do. Maybe there's something i havent considered yet. What have you done in a similar situation? Anything will help.
