Have to go flat front for starters. Anything with multiple pleats will cause the pockets to billow out. Dockers’ Standard Tapered Fit Alpha Khakis are good, and the "Mason" and "Gavin" (Soy names, who cares) Chinos at Banana Republic are also decent off the rack choices. I also stand by the J. Crew "Crosby" suit and separates for guys who lift.

Fit legs and ass are worth the wardrobe "troubles."

For work clothes? I get all mine custom. For casual stuff, Zara, Gap chinos and levi 501s, wear em a little damp the first time to form them. I keep it simple

Avoid pleated pants. They haven't fit well since well... this. Try everything on before you buy. Don't just assume a brand and size you've used and liked in the past will automatically work.

If you don't know what you like, go to the mall find a store with some hot chicks and ask their advice while you practice your day game. New cuts and styles come out all the time.

Expect to get any dress clothes tailored to fit properly. Everyone will notice the difference between someone that takes his appearance seriously and someone that wears off the rack.
God invented stretch fabric for a reason. It rocks when you don't rip the fuck out of clothes getting into your truck.
The only way to know what looks good is to actually see options.
If you plan your wardrobe right you should be able to make several outfits with the same components.

I have the same problem, my waist is smaller than my legs will fit in jeans.

At Macys where they have suits... they have slacks by themselves. They have Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein and a couple others. They are made of this material that isn't stretchy.. but has a lot of give to it. They fit really well as more athletic fit slacks. They are more custom sizes too which helps.. for example I'm a 31.5" length .. and you can actually find that.

They are a little pricey but worth it... 60-80$ a pair.

The other week I went to Nordstrom Rack (the store that sells the shit the regular Nordstrom store couldn't), picked out 6 or 7 different pairs of dress pants, tried them on, bought 4 that fit the best. They were like $30 a piece, too, which was easy on the wallet.

Welcome to the wonderful world of not being able to buy pants off the rack anymore. Find a tailor. Honestly, you can try and maybe find a brand that works for you but it may be tough.
