You did well. I prefer one liners though since there's a bit of luck involved in whether or not your LTR would set herself up like that. I would have replied, "Well since they have it, it'd be difficult to see what the world would be like if they didn't."

I'm in a different position because philosophy is one of my interests and I probably would have already explained how necessity and counterfactual are such that she'd get the joke. I'd stick to the idea of one liners though for all shit tests. Also, had she responded to your question: "They don't need my approval" then you'd have been in some trouble.
