I'm a big self help guy and I have yet to find a book that wasn't feel good bullshit or an author who wasn't a little light in the loafers. But hey, I'm the sucker for buying books instead of just doing shit. And that's what discipline is, a repeated action that yields outcome. I'm not sure what you are referring to, but if it's actionable, set a timer for ten or fifteen minutes and force yourself to do it. You'll find the time passes and you'll break past the barrier of inaction.

The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People is a great book. Lots of eye-opening information and thoughts. However, no one gains discipline from just reading a book. It comes from action and doing things even if you don't want to. Books may guide you, but discipline is made through action.

Honestly, I think this article is all you need to read on discpline. Beyond that, the very act of reading more about discipline is somewhat contradictory to the artform itself. It would be better to apply it by doing the things that need to be done rather than perpetually learning more about them in place of doing them.

There are a ton of books on discipline, just look up the best sellers. I think just writing tasks down and completing the hardest one first will get you on track. Diet and Fitness taught me A LOT of discipline. If you mix your hunger to actually want things in life you will succeed. You will move mountains when you truly want something.
