One book I keep reading and re-reading is the book of pook. You bulk up on TRP heavy stuff and once in a while I re-read the book of pook and find just about anything already in there only that I have a new focus every time I read it.

I highlight passages/quotes with useful and applicable information and copy them into a note application.

I use GoodReader and iBooks. Specifically the bookmark and highlight functions.

From there, it's just a matter of reading the book when needed and skimming straight to the highlights and bookmarks.

There's options to compile highlighted sections into an email for future reference. But I'd much rather put action steps into my to-do list or update my written goals than do that.

I think if you're reading any book to expand your knowledge then you should take notes. Personally I underline or highlight passages I find noteworthy.

I build a deck of flash cards. I also build flashcards for anything that I derive from field experience or self-analysis.

I've got quite alot of them now.. they are broken down into category. I review at least one category a week, or before going out, as needed. Then I fucking forget about them and don't worry about it in the field if I don't remember. Relaxing is key.

It's either there as reflex or it's not. Been very helpful for me. Drilling like this makes it instinct instead of "whoops, what is my answer here?"

When I read a line or paragraph that gives me an "ah-hah" moment I highlight it in my nook. Then when I feel like the concepts of a particular book are escaping me I go back and can just read all the highlighted material and get a good grasp or refresher on the messages of that particular book that resonated the most with me.

Interesting replies. Do any of you make slides in powerpoint to summarize what they read? I always use these made by professors to study for my exams (and read the book where more clearance is needed)
