So the crew that I'm a part of at work is small, it's only nine people, and for the first few months, everyone was really good friends, and of course, we were always giving each other shit. However, I've now started to notice that people have only been giving me shit. Generally, if I'm alone with someone, we'll be fine, but as soon as another co-worker enters the picture, I'm suddenly the butt of all the jokes, and they'll just flat out insult me (yesterday during lunch, two of them sat there and spent the whole time discussing how retarded they think I am). I've tried to play it off and throw things back, but every time I do, they say something like, "Man you need to go home and write some better comebacks." It makes me feel like shit every day, and I don't know what to do. The last thing I want to do is lose my shit, start fighting, and get fired, because this is a great job despite the co-workers. Any advice?
