I was always aware I wanted to have a better body and that I was lacking on it for being lazy. And I always had in mind to improve, sooner or later, but felt bad each time I put it off for some reason... This, eventually, push me to change and step up.

However, I see a huge amount of guys who seem to be ok with staying "mediocre" (in a sense), even going as far as saying that "those who lift aren't actually happy with themselves (true, in a sense) and shouldn't change who they really are..."

I was watching a video of a prominent guy the other day and I looked at his thin-nerdy body and thought "wtf, I'm so happy I decided to change". But the great majority prefers to settle and compensate in any other way possible, and somehow "give up" on the whole lifting/sports/physical improving thing...

Shouldn't young guys between 20 and 40 be instinctively more motivated to improve? True, society doesn't require it anymore in order to survive, but the sexual market still considers it a prime requirement (we all know girls are attracted to hotter guys), so adding 2+2 ain't that hard...

EDIT: my boss (who I consider to be really BB) is 42, fat, has wife and kids, drools over one of his female employees all the time and loves telling stories about his youth. The other day he was talking about girls and commented on the fact that he used to play sport X in order to get girls (through better body, social stuff, etc), and then went on to say "until I realized I could get them in other ways..." (implying drinking and partying).

And that's what he did, apparently. He's big and tall, but decided to "settle" in life, so he's also fat (though not obese), making him look like a bear. And we know he doesn't like his look because he's the kind of person who decides to skip lunch in order to avoid getting fatter. And when you look at his wife, you see exactly what he got when he decided to settle: short fatty, droopy, hb5... Which also explains why he drools all over one of his "hottest" employees...

True, he's the boss and is in charge of his own company, but we are also small and he basically earns only a little more than his own employees, meaning he's not "that far on top"...

NOTE: I don't mean to imply people here don't lift, I was asking a general question because I know guys here have the right idea about things.
