Or at least I'm seen as one. The only really unusual things about me are that I've been lifting for 2 years, I dress well and care a lot about looking good, and I do bjj. I've lurked on here a while now. BJJ hasn't gotten me any respect, IOIs, whatever.

It's ironic, but my actual interests are everything stereotypical Indian- robotics team, programming club, model un, tennis, going to join debate in 2 weeks.

The thing I've noticed is, everyone has a stereotype. I don't really stand out from the crowd, because I'm just another Indian guy, even though it's well-known I lift and do BJJ.

And my school is incredibly cliquish- if you're a nerd, you hang with nerds. A lot of times during class, I try approaching some people I'd like to befriend. I try to get in a comment every once in a while, but most the time I'm basically ignored. For example, one time, this one popular guy was talking about a secret 'Bible for boys' he wrote, and showing it to his friends. I asked to see it, and he just smiled and said 'nah, it's top secret'.

Clearly, they don't like much, so I backed off.

I'm not really bullied- in a way, that would be easier, since all I have to do is a) roast them or b) if it comes down to it, beat their ass. No, everyone's nice, but people kind of subtly exclude me. The only people I hang out with are other kids in my clubs. They're all boring as shit. We'll be 'hanging out' at someone's house, I suggest we go out and do something fun, they're like nah.

So what do I do? How do I deal with the stereotype?
