I'm 23. If I did go to college it'd be to study software engineering. I don't have any passion for it but I've coded a bit in the past, and it's not something I'd absolutely hate. I'd do it for the money.

Now, I've been wondering if I should go to school for it or self-teach. I'm already getting a decent paycheck without working so I can literally dedicate 8 hours a day for a year and I'm pretty sure I'd come out with a job. But, it is riskier than going to school and getting that degree.

In 4 years I'd be 27. If I start self teaching now I could probably finish learning by 24-25. Is school/ a compsci degree really that much safer than just learning on your own, and is it worth the college tuition, along with the extra three years?
