I went to get my testosterone checked (I'm in my mid 40s) and they came back a little low but not that bad. The doctor suggested I start getting shots but I realized I didn't even know what normal numbers are. Has anyone else had any experience with this or know where I can find out what the numbers are supposed to be?

EDIT: MY total numbers where 480 something like that, but the Dr talked about "usable" testosterone and gave me number about 6.9 (he said that number was supposed to be 9) for something else. He said the 6.9 number had to do with a molecule that blocks testosterone or something? I'm not sure that's why I'm asking.

EDIT: For the last 6 weeks I've had to cut back on lifting because of some health screenings I've had to do (kidneys). The dr told me to cut back because it can throw off the test (turns out it did).

Thanks guys it looks like I need to lift heavy again for 6 months then take the test again to see if there is a difference
