The idea that losing to a girl, any girl, tells me that you've got a bigger problem than developing your pick-up banter.

You're a strength and conditioning emergency. Eat. Lift- no machines, just iron, gravity, and pain. Sleep 9 hours a day plus a 20-minute nap. Then eat some more.

Consider GOMAD, Super Squats, BRAWN. Don't worry about getting fat. Get strong.

No supplements. Save that money for food. Cottage cheese, eggs, milk, tuna, leafy greens like spinach and kale. Food gets expensive. Being weak is more expensive. You should be able to put on 5 lbs of muscle in about two months. More if you never lifted hard before.

Keep the cardio light, 15-20 easy minutes a day until you are as big as you want to be. Once you have that size, it is time to learn how to defend yourself. This will take about six months. Choose a martial art: boxing, wrestling, judo, jiu-jitsu, muay thai. Anything else is garbage. Don't do "MMA". Unless you have all day, every day to recover, you need to specialize until you get really good at one distance, before graduating to another, because combat sports are very, very demanding on the body.

But they will teach you to confront fear. Which starts with being unafraid of your own thoughts, and of time passing. Learn meditation. Begin today, right now. Start with 5 minutes a day and work your way up to 20. Bad meditation is infinitely better than none. If you can't meditate for 20 minutes, you're going to find cold approaches on a hard eight VERY daunting. But if you can control yourself for two hours, both in the gym and at a park in silence, no one will make you nervous.
