It wasn’t a bad thing to say at all. But the better thing to do would have been to insist in walking her home because she seemed worried about walking alone at night. And if she still insisted to walk home by herself, maybe because she didn’t want you to know where she lives, you could have offered to get her a cab.

Perhaps the problem has nothing to do with the "text me..."

Not a beta move in my opinion. As the alpha, it's your onus to ensure she reaches home safely and you are just checking up on her.

But the bigger issue is she didn't reply. Wait for a few days. Send a follow up text. If she still doesn't reply, soft next.

P.s. Don't over think the minor details. A single text or sentence you say won't make you beta. It's your overall frame that counts.

We need more details. How far did she have to walk alone back to her house? What was her reaction when you said that to her? She could have just forgot, or, she could have thought “wow I can’t believe this guy is really abandoning me and making me walk home all alone in this sketchy neighborhood.”

As for the no reply, there can be a couple of reasons.

She forgot to reply.
She doesn't want to reply.
Something has happened to her.
She wants to see if you genuinely care.

You can ignore and move on. If you genuinely care, give her a call and make sure she is alright and if she is but just preferred to ignore your text, then continue ignoring her after the call.
