Texting for logistics only: outdated?

I feel like this is brought up every other day here. The logistics rule is because (as is so often on display in this sub) many guys shoot themselves in the foot by texting TOO much and then inadvertently become an orbiter. If a girl is using your lack of texting as an excuse for not another date after just one or two, then she's just not that into you anyway.

In my opinion, you are NOT doing anything wrong. You stand out from the other dudes that are texting her “Good morning QT! Hope you are having a good day. What did you eat for dinner?”

Texting for logistics is to keep you from being over invested and giving too much attention which will lower your perceived value at some point. What happens to a resource when it becomes overly available?

That being said, your job is too read the metaphorical room. If you are not getting the results you desire, try some playful banter in addition to your logistical texting.

Only text for logistics has a high probability of being interpreted as black/white. Use it as a tool. Do not become the tool.

You can't make her like/want to fuck you more by texting her. But you can definitely make her like/want to fuck you less. Best case texting her wont change how she perceives you. Why risk?

Yes, texting for logistics only is very much not appropriate for most guys.

IMHO The rule strictly applies to only:

a. Men who are extremely physically attractive at whom women just throw themselves

b. Average looking men with terrible or zero game who will most likely talk themselves out of the pussy by over- texting.

If you're the former, you can probably just text with logistics because you don't need to stand out- your chiseled jawline and perfect body are all you need to differentiate and attract.

If you're the latter you're probably going to put yourself in the friend zone by being too chatty, or worse, creep her out by saying something inappropriate. (Keep in mind that women will tolerate this from the former category of men because awalt - don't believe me? Go look up the experiment where women throw themselves at a fake tinder profile of the male model who "went to prison for pedophilia").

Now for the third category- if you're average looking but have a decent amount of wit- you do want to be reserved but if you're too strict with this rule then it can backfire.

The real rule is that you want your texts to be value adding and not value seeking.

No how was your day bullshit. Think of it like your Twitter or Instagram on tap. Share cool shit. Embellish if you want. Then go for logistics.

Again- texting with a purpose (to add value) is good. Texting with no purpose (just to chit chat) or to seek value is bad.

The strict "logistics only" stuff needs to ease up a little. One girl I went out with a few times was almost on the verge of tears because I kept the communication to the absolute minimum. I would autist myself "No dynospectrum7, must only text logistics. Its RP law!" She got fed up pretty quickly and fucked off. Could I have kept her around by giving her a little more reassurance? Most likely yes. But as another commenter stated, you gotta read the room and calibrate.

When they ask me why I don’t text them much I tell them that 1. I’m busy and don’t always necessarily have time to text (which is only partially true if I’m being honest), 2. I don’t really like texting, especially with girls since it’s easy for miscommunications to occur, as well as my experience with over texting in my past, and 3. I’d much rather talk in person and not having a constant conversation between meetups allows for us to have topics to discuss when we meet in person.

That is a lot of explaining.

There are two issues with this:

Firstly, in bold you are displaying your weaknesses to them and they could interpret that as you

1, cannot communicate properly with girls

2, are deep down, a needy guy

3, do not know how to keep dates interesting and exciting without having ‘topics’ to discuss

This is unnecessary.

Secondly, if they felt an increased attraction to you from your lack of texting, you can then kill that attraction by explaining your reasoning for not texting.

Girls prefer guys to be naturally attractive, not because the guy has read some things about what to do/not to do or figured out his errors and how to counter them to avoid losing attraction.

That could be the reason why things have been fizzling out after those conversations.

Have you tried asking the girl if shes into texting or if she prefers speaking face to face? Believe it or not, women are not amorphous beings that share one brain cell. In fact I'd go so far as to say that every woman is different and thusly has a different communication preference and you should probably just...talk to her about it.

Wtf is up with this place anymore? This is basic and fundemental RP stuff. The fact that she’s upset if you don’t text her means she has high interest.

I’ve stopped initiating text convos with all women and it drives them mad, but it keeps them coming back for me. You shouldn’t be chasing, they should be chasing after you. Sure if they text me, I’ll exchange a few messages and either set plans or let the convo die, but I never text first for small talk.

"You text weird" - I got that a response because of how I only really text when it's something that I need right away. That comment did nothing to change the dynamic of my relationship with her or any other woman.

Anything longer needs a quick call. People still can use phones to communicate and has a better way to convey tone then emojis.

Pandering to women is idiotic and if they're willing to walk because of your texting then it's more of an issue with your SMV and their attraction than just texting back and forth.

I don't know. Maybe I'm too old school and put more value in interactions that are face to face and less on messages that are expressed through emoji or with my thumbs.

I’m 25 and it hasn’t been an issue. All the girls I’ve seen want to continue seeing me. They make jokes or hint that I suck at texting to which I respond yeah I hate texting.
