After my last post on seddit where I talked about a fulfilled life, I received a lot of PMs from readers who wanted to hear back on how to actually build a social circle and make friendships well after graduation. I could talk about the benefits of a great social life but for now, I will avoid that because you guys more or less want one which is why you are reading this thread.

Come to think of it, it's actually not that surprising to me that this is something a lot of guys on here struggle with.

Chances are, you were not one of the cool kids in high school or even college (thanks Greek Life!). Most of you in here were maybe a little nerdy, somewhat strange, introverted, and did not get to experience things like being invited to parties where all of the hot girls and cool bros were heading. A lot of you in here were probably "different" in a time period of life where conformity and outward appearance (not just looks but popularity) are very important. I mean, you literally turned to PUA and subs like this in order to get better with girls because you were not doing well with hot girls in your teens and early 20s.

You were not the guy invited to spring breaks, formals, themed parties, or making out with hot girls who took selfies with you doing so in college, and you just missed out on those social experiences.

But then there is the doom and gloom about social life after college.

We've heard it a million times from Buzzfeed, ThoughtCatalog, Elite Daily, and many other mainstream blogs, those horror stories after college. You will never make fun friends again, you will never be around such amazing people again, nothing beats dorm life when it comes to making friends, and you will more or less be lonely if you didn't figure it out in college. I mean it is a lot and I do think that the media has an agenda when it comes to this. The conspiracy theorist in me believes that it is a push by colleges across the nation to glorify social life in college in order to get students and their parents to spend the thousands of dollars to stay on campus. Who knows, but what I do know is that there is definitely a strong strong push by media to tell Americans that after college, making friends and having a social life is borderline impossible.

I know, it can be very depressing reading the miserable things about social life after college, can literally ruin your entire day.

Yet, it is doable!

Yes, despite media and your elders telling you that it is borderline impossible to make new friends and party after college, the truth is that it is doable and lots of people do it. The parties don't get lame if you play your cards right and the amazing people are still there, but how do you approach this situation? Well here is how.

You have to be proactive, like with everything in life as you get older.

1 - It's all about location.

Seriously, location is at least 50% of it all. You need to be in the places where a lot of 20 somethings are moving to after college, they are just as wild and social after it. Just because they work doesn't mean they aren't spending their weekends going out. You won't have an active social life in the suburbs OR by moving back in with your parents after graduating college. Some cities to consider are Austin, Chicago, Portland, Charleston, Nashville, and Columbus. I highly recommend doing your research on this, some cities are horrible for a social life while others are amazing. Kinda like college, some colleges are horrible for social life while some are not.

2 - Events and activities, pick something, anything.

Dog groups, walking groups, running groups, rock climbing groups, kickball leagues, volunteer organizations, anything, just pick one. Kinda like how colleges wanted you to have an extra curricular activity when you were applying, real life loves for you to do something outside of work. Video games and porn are not the answer, do something, and just get involved.

3 - Maybe a more social second job.

I work as a bartender on the side and it has helped me a ton in terms of parties and meeting cool people. Now the job is tricky to get as a second job but it has been rewarding for me. I am sure that there are other second jobs or side gigs you can get that will also help you in being more social.

4 - Keep doing it with 2, stay and go to as many meeting as you can.

You go to an activity and you do so for a few months until you get familiar with the people in it. If you meet some cool guys, call them out to go to bars and other events with you. Find a way to get others in the group involved in those social outings. Some girls at the activities will not want to be social outside of them, that is just how they are, while others are going to want to spend some free time hanging out because they are looking for friends.

5 - Eventually, it will come together.

It will take months, sometimes people will move, and sometimes things won't work out that well. Does not matter, it will slowly come together. You will eventually find some friends through your activities who want to go out with you to bars and parties, invite you to events, and chill with you. Not all people will but some will.

That's all I have, if you have anything to add, then add it.
