I've never watched an infield video or read examples of openers or compliments, flirtations, teasing or dirty talk without cringing and thinking 'yeah like that would ever work'. I put a huge amount of pressure on myself to come up with things that are subtle and smooth and sexy and half the time this leads me to not even bother or by the time I have the opportunity has passed by.

The evidence seems to be that no, you don't actually have to be the worlds most witty and charming man speaking in oscar wilde esque epigrams in order to capture someone's interest. Look at how many witless guys have attractive women by their side - probably because unlike me they didn't ages thinking about what to say, they just said what was on their mind.

Hell some of the top posts here recommend just walking over and plainly introducing yourself, and complimenting them on their dress sense. My immediate reaction is 'how the fuck would such a bland and basic approach possibly work for anyone?' but apparently it does.

Do you guys agree that I'm putting too much pressure on myself to be clever, when I should just focus on being honest and direct?
