So fun fact, I've been in this situation several times. Most of them DO come back, and some of those will completely change their tune about it. You did well rejecting the LJBF in the moment, I think if you accept it and try to actually just be friends with the girl it's unrecoverable in terms of the sexual/romantic dynamic. Well, at least short term. I've had girls who were "just friends now" suddenly text me late at night asking me to come over, or try to make moves on me suddenly, but that's always months or even years later.

Biggest thing, even if you see her around or whatever, is to not overpursue that. The main one I really fucked up a while back was a girl I was on the fence about anyway, took the LJBF, and then tried to convert it when I saw her interest raising. Went about it the wrong way, more of a confrontation than any good seduction. This was like two years ago but it's probably never gonna happen after that, lol.

I'd say best bet is to leave it for now and if she doesn't reach out in a month or so, you text her. Something like "Hey, so, just curious about you. Not expecting anything. Wanna hang out soon?"

I've done that a few times and usually it's either no response or it's a Hell Yes. See, girls who are vaguely, slightly into you but turned off by some bullshit you did or a bad vibe in the moment, their big fear is that you're gonna blow up about it or beg and give them more icks and anxiety. I've had heavy fumbles I turned around by genuinely just reaching back out later out of curiosity, when I had other options, and didn't need anything to come of it, but wanted to see if a connection was there.

I've started a couple whole relationships this way dude. It's about giving off a gentle, non-needy pursuit, a sense of "Heh, I thought of you again, might wanna see if there's anything here"

By rejecting the LJBF and giving a lot of distance, you show you're a confident man who knows what he wants, and isn't in any hurry about it. You also show that you're interested without being like the millions of guys who would go "please give me another shot" or "please be my girlfriend" or "please sit on my face queen". You can reach back out, just be chill, and literally don't expect anything from her, and she might gravitate back to that energy after all.

The best bet is stop all communication with her and meet new women. Some will come back around. Some won’t. Either way, you’ve moved on with your life. If she wants to see you, she’ll contact you. The ball is in her court.
