I've gotten this three notable times- 1) Was with a buddy of mine at a bar, and opened a chick, and the three of us were talking, and she stops and asks us "Are you guys gay." I threw my arm around my buddy, and procclaimed in my most over the top flamboyant voice ever "OH MY GAWD, we are Soooooo gay! And we're getting married and need you to help us plan our wedding!" She burst out laughing and said "haha that's hilarious!", then grabbed her twin sister and the four of us hung out and got a # and k close.

2) Did the same thing solo ("I'm sooooo gay, getting married, etc"); girl was hammered and didn't get the irony, so she really did think I was gay, started all up on me, said she was looking for a gay guy to live with since she was moving into the city. Then her boyfriend (who was twice my size) comes in and starts on me because his gf is all over me, at which point she tells him I'm gay, and I bail.

3) Had a guy ask me this - I looked at him and said "well, what do you think?" He didn't believe I was straight, so he started polling chicks as they came out of the bar, and then he eventually propositioned me for a quickie in the alleyway, which I declined. Two weeks later, I was outside this club and #closed a girl who opened me because she remembered getting polled about my sexual orientation.

Anyways, I like to go over the top with it. If I'm with a wing, I'll probably grab his ass and we'll play it up to a ridiculous level, most people pick up pretty quickly that we are bullshitting - basically, agree and amplify.

Joculator's idea was pretty money! I usually say something like "Do you want me to show you how gay I'm not?" It depends on how direct you need to be in the moment.
