Asking her name or giving her your name

I just ask for her name early on. One, I like to use it when talking to her, as it sounds more personal, and two, I forget names a lot, so the more I use it, the better chance I have of remembering it.

I do not offer mine, if she wants it, she can ask, or get it during the number exchange.

She doesn't need my name early on, as I usually try to get the girl to do most of the talking. I am trying to figure out if I even like her, beyond her looks.

If she is with friends, I might ask them, but typically my focus is on the girl I'm flirting with first.

I learned this somewhere and can confirm it works from field testing, try this: ask her name and don't offer your own. If she is interested in you and continuing the conversation, she'll ask your name. It's an IOI.

It doesn't matter either way. If she asks you for your name, it's a small IOI, but if it makes sense to ask for her name at a certain point of the conversation, just ask.
