Completely delete any simplistic thoughts of "complimenting" and ground yourself in her "Best Case Scenario Endgame Response" to your hypothetical compliment.

This post is the type of fear based thinking that has y'all up in coffee shops on Wednesday afternoons when you don't even like coffee.

In other words, you don't really want to say "You look pretty tonight" do you?

It's not that you said the dress/jumper/skirt/socks etc is cute...it's that you said that specific colour looks good on her. She will remember that.

take in consideration two things

women won't notice compliments, she heard it all over the day, but she notices and remembers humiliations or observation and something that would trigger an emotion of her!!
when talking or chatting with a girl be authentic, when trying to say something a girl that would be perceived as neediness for that girl, instead try to improve your speaking skills that you'll avoid such situation
