On the NYC Groupme a couple of days ago, I was asking the locals about texting numbers that you have never actually gotten a text back from. When should you stop? How often could/should you do it? What should you text?
The responses I got were surprising and little disappointing, frankly. "I usually stop after about 2 texts" was more or less the unanimous response. There was no real discussion about the topic after that.
I found it interesting that so few guys had thought about this at lenght and it got me interested.
So you have a number(s) of a cutie. You text once saysin "Hey this is MTB" then again, a couple of days later saying "sup dork" or something(or anything). You want to go out with her...
When should you stop texting?
Basically, never. You are almost guaranteed to not meet up with a girl if you stop texting her and give up. Continuing to text her will increase your chances of a meet up(albiet by a small amout). It takes little to no effort to send a text. So what do you have to lose? The worst that can happen is shes continues to not have sex with you.
How often could/should you text?
Braddock's Text guide has a good rule for text frequency. If you text a girl with not reply, wait 1 day and text again, then 2 and text again, then 3 etc... This is a pretty solid method, but I honestly don't worry about to it, you may feel differently. I just send another text whenever I feel like its been a long time. Usually, on the toilet, I'll sift through old text convo's on my phone and sent off a few randoms.
What should you send?
Anything and everything. The randomeist facts you can think of, something you thought was funny, something bizarre that happened to you or someone you know, a picture you saw on reddit(I love "sup" dogs personally), a big fuck-off lie. Experiment, see what works.
My results with this have been great. Over the last 2ish weeks I've been recycling maybe 20 numbers and have gotten responses for about 5, from there I have been able to set up day 2s on some girls that got away.
Its worth trying, at the very least its worth discussing. Let us all know how you do. Takes little to now effort with small reward. Never give up, never surrender!
