Buddy you actually don't have a gf. Start looking else where, when she texts tell her it obviously isn't working for her, and wish hey a good life. I really hope she hadn't been fleecing you for expensive meals and gifts. Better luck next time!
[–]Cpreacy 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
No quite the opposite she likes to pay for everything. I really don’t want to break up with her but idk what I can do
[–]Dalbergia12 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
I know this is a really radical suggestion, but if you talk to her about it, it will probably solve the problem one way or the other won't it?
[–]Cpreacy 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Yeah but she’ll probably just say the same thing like she did a month ago; that we will eventually get there we just need to take it slow like we’ve been doing
[–]Dalbergia12 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I think you better start looking around man.
[–]AngeloMacon 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
You already know the answer, right? You're just looking for absolution?
[–]sussykeke 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (14 children) | Copy Link
Asking for a kiss is a no go. A kiss shouldn't be asked for, you should go for it when the time is right
[–]Cpreacy 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link
She’s the type that loves consent she told me
[–]sussykeke 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
Asking for a kiss is unattractive af. Consent is implied by the situation, her body language etc. If you miscalculated and she doesn't want to kiss you, she'll pull away, then you know whoops it wasn't the right moment, no harm done.
[–]Cpreacy 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
See at first I did try to do that and she told me that she would prefer if I ask first. This was a month ago so idk if she changed her mind but that’s all I have to go off of
[–]sussykeke 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
That was a shit test from what I'm seeing homie
So what do I do
[–]sussykeke 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
You've gotta asses that yourself man, i don't have nearly enough information.
But what I do know is that you're not getting what you want. So pull away for a while. Talk to some other girls. If you don't have any other girls to talk to at least pretend you're too busy to hang out / answer texts on time etc.
Many times when you pull away like this they'll come back. And if she doesn't, not exactly a loss, it's a "girlfriend" that doesn't want to kiss you. You're not losing anything of value there. Just know that if you stick around and put up with her bullshit she'll just keep doing what she's doing
I’m not gonna talk to other girls but yeah I should probably pull away a bit but I don’t know how to do that
[–]sussykeke 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Less texting her, less hanging out, act like you've got better things to do right now. Better yet find some better things to do.
[–]tom333444 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Asking for a kiss is fine. Consent is important.
[–]sussykeke 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Yeah I thought that too back in high school. Asking for a kiss is unattractive af. Consent is implied by the situation, her body language, the way you're looking at each other etc. If you miscalculated and she doesn't want to kiss you, she'll pull away, then you know whoops it wasn't the right moment, no harm done.
[–]tom333444 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Asking for a kiss isn't unattractive. just ask the first time and I think most girls would appreciate that. I certainly would (as a man, I don't think it matters what gender you are) of course it differs for different people.
[–]sussykeke 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
My experience differs, I got a kiss exactly 0 times when I asked. When I didn't ask and just went with the moment, I got a kiss back and the girls never complained about me not asking. You do you tho.
[–]tom333444 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I don't have many experiences personally so I could be wrong I just personally appreciate and value verbal consent. But yes, not asking definitely works for some people
[–]Marcoscondit 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
People say that but it’s worked out for me, but usually I ask when I feel like she wants it too, I’ll just be like can I kiss you real quick, again usually if I feel like or see sings she wants it too hasn’t failed yet, just don’t ask like a chicken though, ask with confidence or like it’s no big deal
[–]bloontsmooker 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link
How often do y’all see each other? Can’t really answer without knowing the amount of regular physical proximity.
This could go many different ways, but if everything is on the level and she genuinely likes you romantically, this sounds like a trauma response or the result of religious shame.
I think you need to have a direct conversation about physical expectations, and if they don’t seem like they have the potential to line up, y’all should just stay friends.
[–]Cpreacy 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
We go on dates at least once a month but we see each other at work 3-4 times a week.
She’s not a religious person but her main reason I think is that she’s not used to physical affection at all because she didn’t grow up with it but tells me that eventually we will get there. It took her a month into our official relationship for us to hug (she hugged me first) and now it feels normal so idk
[–]bloontsmooker 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
You need to ignore the rest of the advice on here and just communicate with your girl. This is a very individual specific issue you’re facing here, and the best route is to talk to her about how to develop a practical path to intimacy that isn’t just you waiting around for her to be okay.
And fyi - if you do not feel comfortable having this conversation with someone you are so close to, this may not be the relationship for you.
[–]Cpreacy 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
But how do I tell her this without making it sound like I’m forcing her and demanding it
[–]bloontsmooker 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
I don’t know how often y’all have discussed her intimacy issues or how deep these talks have gotten. But I think you need to emphasize the fact that you want physical intimacy with HER, and not just physical intimacy when the discussion arises. I think the focus needs to be on her feelings and both of you arriving at the source of her discomfort. Until you guys both know why she is so uncomfortable, it is going to be hard to determine how to get on the path to growth and healing.
So in practical terms “hey, I’m just wondering if there is anything I can do differently to help you feel more comfortable with me physically?”
I’m really concerned that her boundaries may be due to sexual abuse, and I think you should be very conscious of that going into this conversation.
[–]Cpreacy 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
She’s never mentioned anything like sexual abuse to me.
But yeah if I get rejected again on our next date id feel I’d have to ask why she is so uncomfortable with physical intimacy with me besides her not being used to it
[–]bloontsmooker 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Don’t ask her what’s wrong with her, ask what you can do to better support her in becoming more physically comfortable with you. She sounds like a good person and y’all seem to have a good thing going.
And just an fyi, a lot of women refuse to speak about being sexually abused out of shame and fear of being left. If she isn’t comfortable kissing you do you think she’d be comfortable sharing a horrific personal story with you?
[–]Cpreacy 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
But she’s shared so many other personal things with me, but yeah sexual abuse is a pretty big thing.
But yeah she really is a good person so I’ll try and ask what I can do better to support her getting more comfortable
[–]MermaidOfScandinavia 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago* (3 children) | Copy Link
She is still young and isn't ready. Either wait for her to be ready or move on to someone more mature. She shouldn't be pushed into something she isn't ready for.
Edit.
I should add that you could be direct with her ask if she sees you more as friends then someone she wants to move forward with. But the way it looks from here is that you are not on the same page and that creates tension might make it difficult to move forward at all. Listen to your gut.
My gut tells me that I’ll regret it deeply if I break up with her but i just don’t know how to proceed to help her
[–]MermaidOfScandinavia 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Give her time, make her feel comfortable and just have fun in a way that you are both ok with. Sure it sucks that you are notcon the say page right now. But if you really love her then she needs time. Give her that space. What's her hobbies?
[–]Cpreacy 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
She likes to read and watch MCU movies and tv shows

Lotta negativity in these comments. But hey, it is very weird to be in an adult relationship where you don’t even kiss. Are you from a particularly conservative culture? Is this kind of thing at least normal where you’re from? What kind of experiences do your friends have in this area? I think you need to chat with her pretty straight up about this if you want to move forward. Explain that a kiss is a completely normal (and not to mention enjoyable) part of intimacy and relationships—so you’re wondering why she doesn’t feel like giving it a go. It’s not like sex, where there are certain risks associated. Kissing is really just for fun and also a great way to connect physically before committing to the whole act. If she’s nervous about something, maybe she can tell you then. Again, I’m not sure what it’s like in your culture, maybe she thinks she’ll get a reputation or something. If that’s the case, you gotta reassure her that you’re really into her, and it’s just a kiss, and that nobody will judge her for kissing her boyfriend. If, like some other posters are insinuating, she is not really committed to you and is just using you, this will probably come out in these discussions in one way or another.

I've gotten blowjobs from woman I haven't known for more than a day. Cut of th dead weight, move on, do better.. You deserve it
[–]Marcoscondit -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
2 months and haven’t kissed, bro grow some balls
It’s not me, she just says she’s not ready yet
[–]TheFreakish 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Did she tell you this was going to be a thing at the start of your relationship?
I didn’t have a clue until right after we became official
[–]Vinegar_Tits_9 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
It definitely doesn’t sound like you guys have been together for months… Something is wrong with this picture, and I don’t think it’s you. To be waiting for months for just a kiss on the cheek is strange and unusual and I think you’re probably better off as BFFs. Time to look for someone new I think.
We’ve been official for 1.5 months, maybe she just needs more time
[–]tom333444 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Have an honest talk with her this is not normal
[–]Vinegar_Tits_9 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
At 1.5 months most normal people would be onto second base (and that’s if they’re taking it slow) You definitely need to talk with her and sort it out
She just says we need to take it slow and we’ll eventually get there
[–]TheFreakish 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
And how do you feel?
If you're cool waiting man, by all means, but man she's not asking for nothing from you, everyday you're putting in an emotional investment. Everyday you're reinforcing your commitment to her. Everyday you're putting her needs over yours. It's only going to be harder to break up as time goes on.
I get you feel for this woman, I get you care about her and don't want to hurt her. This shit is going to have an effect on you though man. You want a girl that makes you feel confident in yourself. You want a girl that makes you feel attractive. You don't want a girl that makes you feel like a predator.
I know a dude that hard to wait 2 yeeears before his now wife would sleep with him. She still won't suck his dick without a condom though 🙄
There's a world of sexually adventurous women out there man.
Dang man for some reason this really got to me, that sometimes yeah I do feel bad for wanting just a kiss and it feels predatorish. I just don’t know what to do

A girlfriend that you've never even kissed, now I've heard it all.
[–]Ambitious-Ice2357 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
She doesn’t let you kiss her on the cheek after months ? Move on. Her gay male friend gets more action.
