Hey bro
Don't text.
Let's look at this logically. She had demonstrated she is willing to text you first without hesitation in the past. So by you thinking you need to reach out, is simply the "illusion of action" What you really want is for things to be how they were, so you think taking more and more action will make it so. But it won't.
Your instincts are correct. Sit back, do your thing, let it go for now. Like we said, she is able and willing to hit you up whenever she feels like it and we know this as fact
Sometimes girls will let themselves get in over their head. They rush in with a guy then at a couple weeks of intensity they get some doubts maybe not even about you, but about how they've been acting.
Then the last thing they want is that guy thinking she's his gf now because they spent so much time together. So that's why you sit back. You're not that guy

Thanks bro. Makes perfect sense. No reply from me.

Absolutely. Good choice. There's a quote that goes like this: a girl falling in love with you isn't something that you do to her. A girl falling in love with you is something that the girl does to herself when you're not there.
The point is this: in general, the more time you spend together, the more she will tend to take you for granted. And on that same note, the less time and attention you give her, the more she's able to build that feeling of falling in love with you.
I mean just look at yourself. As soon as she started giving you a little less attention and validation of attraction, you began to worry. So much so that you decided to reach out for outside help. That state of being that you're in (or was in) is the exact kind of state of being that you want the girl you're with to be in. And that comes with distance.
I'm going to link a video (right here) that will give you a crash course of how you want to approach the situation. If you can internalize the main ideas in this video (not to make her like you per se, but rather to be a more attractive guy in general) You will see results. Even if it's not with this girl.
Another advice someone mentioned is to keep dating other people. That way you're never completely focused on one particular girl.

I can’t help but feel this all boils down to if the girl was truly interested in you that you wouldn’t have to deal with all these hoops and boundaries. I’m kind of on a firm belief that things work out if they were meant to.

Thanks so much - very much appreciated!
[–]stanthemilkman88 10 points11 points12 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
You know what would help. If you were dating multiple women. If she saw you with another woman I'm sure that'll have an effect.
But yeah, don't contact here unless she initiates. Use 2/3s rule. Text 2 for everything 3 texts you send. Just a trick to stop getting you emotionally invested. Or appear desperate with no other options, which is unattractive. Frame it differently. She is drifting away but that's OK because I'm a switched on guy that can find someone else if I want to.
[–]RealToday 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Cool. Thanks for reply. I've become emotionally attached in the past, I know it's not nice feeling. I'm on the cusp of it here - better bail. Especially when her interest levels have dropped significantly.
[–]Eventual_Melancholy 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Could you explain the 2/3s rule a bit more clearly?
[–]ResponsibilityKey427 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
It doesn’t mean anything if the girl has lost interest
[–]Liberaler 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Switching from texting to voice calls or voice messages could be a game changer, as there would be more connection and empathy and less room for missunderstandings.
[–]TheCaribbeanRedditor 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Nope. You can't beg for attraction. The issue isn't that she needs more "connection " or else she would have asked him for it.
OP needs to leave her alone and focus on himself
[–]mistahARK 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Too late for that here
[–]imahoaxandacoach 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link
At this point, dont do anything. If she is losing (or lost) interest or is playing games the best course of action is to give her space, let her come to you.
Ask yourself, do you really want or deserve a lukewarm response? No. She probably felt thay you got too attached too quickly. I would focus on myself and game other women, if she comes back good, if she doesnt good too. Life is too short to deal with indifferent people.
Keep your head up man!
[–]RealToday 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link
Great advice. Thanks!
My only concern is this - will she think I'm weak/emotional for not texting her back as that could be seen as an emotional reaction to her not giving me as much attention? Or would it have the complete opposite effect?
[–]imahoaxandacoach 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link
Depends. Did she ask you a question? What she texted need an interaction from your part? Or did she just said something to say something?
You cant obsess about looking weak man. She did something you didnt like, you withdraw attention. Attention/time is the most valuable thing in this world (including time thinking about her inside your head) be careful how you spend it. (Trust an older guy that made a lot of mistakes)
[–]RealToday 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
She took 15 hours (and multiple times checking her phone) to ask me "Do you like bowling B)" (which was I did the previous day) and to ask me "what are you up to for the day :D"
They do seem rather innocuous, but since there's such a stark change, it looks like I'm just being pleased with interaction. It was far more authentic before. It's forced now - unnatural. There's something missing. I know it's only been three days, but my god when her actions the morning after were so distant, I just knew. Her interest has dropped.
[–]imahoaxandacoach 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
Man its tough balancing trusting your gut feeling and being paranoid. I cant decide for you, but anyway some space couldnt hurt. If you feel like you have to do something to save the interaction, that is not a good mental place to be and to act, so I would wait, at least until Im better mentally. And start gaming other women, it helps.

So continue with the no reply? I also offered to take her crazy golfing this week too and she was sort of fickle and watery about that too. I said someday this week and within two texts she said she will "look into the weekend". I told her I wasn't around at the weekend (that's false) as more of a test. She didn't address it really.
[–]imahoaxandacoach 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Wishy washy plans are never a good sign, but when scheduling something you have to set a specific day, hour and place to meet, dont leave it open (of course ask first when the girl is free). She either will agree (good), offer another day (also good) or say "we'll see / Ill think about it/not sure yet" (these are all bad answers).
I honestly dont know what you should do. Nowadays I drop things real fast when they get less than good, but in the end you should do what you think you should. I always felt better when I went on with my decision, even if I crashed and burned because a) i got my response b) i did all i could.
[–]RealToday 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Thanks for the detailed responses, bro. I really appreciate it.
[–]imahoaxandacoach 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
No problem man, in the end I didnt help you, but I hope it works out for the best, either way.

dawg imma just say this. i’m not super experienced with women. (only 2 serious relationships and like 12 hookups but lots of talking to different women in different capacities). if they’re interested you can easily tell, just like you detailed in your post. when me and my ex started talking she came over one night (first time hanging out) and she said something like “next time you’ll have to show me blah blah” i forget. so when texting her the next day after dropping her off we exchanged pleasantries thru text and i told her i’d have my room clean for next time to which she says “who said there’s gonna be a next time?” i told her “you did last night” and from there we set up a time for our next hangout with me saying “i’m tryna see you this week” and she replies “name a time and a place and i’ll be there” this was a couple days after, but i never tried to push her. i always let her text me in the morning cuz i wanted HER to WANT to reach out to me. we just naturally talked and it kind of fell into place. and eventually went from there and dated.
long story short, you know when she’s interested, if she’s not anymore then just protect your time and attention for now. if she reaches out then have a convo with her but other than that i would leave it alone for now and focus on other women and yourself. you got this mane
[–]TheCaribbeanRedditor 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
At this point there's not much you can do. Find a new girl, stay preoccupied, and let her come to you
[–]klippklar 4 years ago [recovered] (1 child) | Copy Link
You've become too invested. Give her space. Chasing NEVER pays off. If she wants to come back she will if not it sucks but she won't. Some things are out of our hands but it's no use to beat yourself up about it. Look for other options.
[–]RealToday 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
So no response?
Thanks for the reply!

I swear every time I hear a girl say "I had a fun" they usually disappear after that.
Whether it's after a first date or whatever.
[–]GotThaAcid5tab 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Anyone who says “I had a fun” probably doesn’t exist to begin with
[–]throwaway9991p 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Don't text again
[–]RealToday 4 years ago [recovered] (1 child) | Copy Link
You think it's better to not reply whatsoever?
[–]throwaway9991p 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Only if she texts you first
[–]Frozen_Babies69 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Dude I’m in the same place. Only difference is I’m the fast texter and she has told me multiple times she hates social media and texting. It’s a weird place to be in. Chick also wanted space because she just got out of a 3 year relationship. So I feel your pain.
[–]Lakeyute 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
The sex probably wasn’t very good.
That’s the thing about sex, it either makes her want you more if it’s good or marks the beginning of the end if it’s not.
Either way, you need to see if she’s interested in fucking again. You’ve already done it so you don’t even gotta beat around the bush. Just ask her when he’s coming back for round 2.
Her answer to that will tell you everything you need to hear.
[–]ethanwa79 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
If you love someone, set them free. If they come back they're yours; if they don't they never were.
Don't text anymore and see if she reaches out. You'll get your answer within 72 hours. Set a timer and walk away.
