In highschool I was trying to get with this girl. Things just never clicked. Couple years later I met her identical twin sister (different fashion style so didn't look identical) in a bar, and we wound up dating for a few months.

Neither sister seemed to mind it.

Not quite what you're describing but it is what it is. I personally would not date a girl my brother is trying to get with. No matter how much she prefers me.

As a man this happened to me once, it was complicated because I was already dating the girl, so it wasn't like I was going to dump her for her sister. Kept my distance from her sister and we still had a great time together and I don't regret anything.

Assuming you are not flirting with the less compatible brother, I suggest you go for the one you like.

Jesus Christ, people here are off their rocker. I think it's totally fine. But you should be straightforward with the original crush I think. Like, if you start hanging out with the brother, don't do couples-like activities with the original crush. You can still be cordial but things like hanging out regularly, daily text messages, etc... well no. Hell, you could even tell him "hey, I respect you as a friend, but I have feelings for your brother". Depends on how close you guys are TBH.

But in and of itself there's absolutely nothing wrong with it IMO.

All these men are assholes on here with double standards. Girl you’re fine. If y’all weren’t dating and committed and the connections isn’t there and it’s obvious, as long as you’re honest about things with them both then you should be fine. And if they aren’t okay with it then move on there’s plenty of other guys out there. But people shouldn’t be making you feel like shot because you’d rather be with someone who kinder and/or seems to be more compatible I don’t see the issue. You shouldn’t be forced to stay with someone you’re not 100% happy with because emotional ass men are upset that they could be replaced by their better sibling or friend. They all sound a bit hurt tbh because they’d do the same thing. Sleeping with our friends because they like them better or whatnot so yeah. Do what feels right as long as you’re up front and honest. What do you really have to lose?
