If you have problems opening up to people that you don’t know, then alcohol will help get rid of some of that inhibition for you. It’s not a magic potion though, so if you just aren’t very good at talking to people, then you’ll want to only talk to people who are also drinking too.

It definitely can hold you back as a crutch, but I do seem to find it easier talking to people in general once I have a few drinks. Gotta be careful though after.

What I would do if I were you is get drunk with your friends and a good group of people you can fall back on if you’ve never been drunk. Get like properly shitfaced so you have a good time and can get a feel for what it’s like.

If you get drunk for the first time around a woman you’re interested in you might say some dumb shit that can turn her off, or even if you’re lucky and don’t say dumb shit she might just be able to tell you’re an amateur and that could also be a turn off. In the end though, generally I have a much easier time talking to girls when I am drunk and the conversation flows much more naturally but the downside to that is sometimes I say dumb shit that you only say when you’re with your guy friends

I am borderline a virgin so don’t take this as facts, it’s just a suggestion

The danger is that if you drink and get good results you will need alcohol every time. It's best to not indulge if you don't really need to. Do it for fun in moderation, but don't use it for a purpose like meeting women.

Also realize that if you have never really drank you don't know how it will effect you. Should be ok, but some people do have an addictive gene. Don't find out you are one of them and depend on alcohol to meet women.

Yes and no. When everybody is drinking on social setting booz can help a lot to break ice and everybody is more relaxed. But if you do not drink do not start drinking because of Women. You do not know what type of drunk you are and how much you can take.
