College girls don't matter in the long run. You want to find someone who isn't so shallow anyway. If you're dead set on a girl from your college, find one at a study group or the library, not tinder

There is only one girl who I can see myself in a long term relationship with, but I don't know how to ask her out because it will ruin the class and club we are in. Despite her being one of the only women who shows me some small amount of kindness, I know she, like everyone else, would be repulsed at the idea of dating me.
[–]joeytwogun 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Spend more casual time with her as friends and get a feel for her comfort level with you. Build a strong foundation and build off of that. It may take some time but the results will be worth it. You'll either have a great relationship or a great friend. But at least you'll have her. Take it slow and play it cool.

Hey man, I know it seems like having a girlfriend is a big deal and super important, but it’s not important in college, or really not that important ever. Relationships add to your life but shouldn’t be all encompassing.
Take it from me, looking for or seeking out a LTR isn’t a way to be successful in finding one.
You’re gonna need to get used to competing for women, there are always going to be men before, after, during. You’re also what 19 or 20 just have fun.
[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Have fun how? Only parties here are from frats which I don't go to because I'm not in one. Can't hook up for obvious reasons, and just hanging out with a group of platonic friends sounds like torture. I had LTR before and I know that's what I want to be emotionally fulfilled. Because of family situation I don't really have to worry about getting a good degree or looking for a job so really college for me is just going to class, bullshitting exams, going to some club for an hour per day, and spending the rest of my time walking around town or watching TV.
[–]DryAdhesiveness6579 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
yeah dude right there is the issue. You need to find something outside of a relationship. What are you going to do in this relationship ?Lay in bed and watch tv all day ?
You need to find some hobbies and things that interest you outside a relationship. Otherwise this girl you get is gonna dump you for someone who is interesting and has a purpose.
Like torture to hang out with platonic friends ?? How sad are you ? I choose my friends over girls i’m romantically involved with all the time.
You sound like a whiny sad cunt.
You’re priorities are all misaligned.

I can relate to this. People say relationships add to your life not all encompassing. Sometimes we do have hobbies and passions and are happy, but the only thing missing in our life is a girlfriend that we want to do things with. How do we go about that? And just like you, hanging out with group of platonic friends isn't for me either, especially when you have a few aggressive friends who want to do the talking all the time and you are relegated to the background. Hate that feeling. For me 1 on 1 meeting is best, whether with a friend or a long term partner.

I can tell you from experience that if you are in a relationship solely for the purpose of being fulfilled, you will tolerate anything and will eventually be hurting yourself mentally. Tinder is a hookup app. I tried dating a girl from there and that’s all it turned out to be. I had to relearn who I was after my 15 year marriage to a narcissist.
Get a hobby. Do interesting things. Discover who you are and who you want to be. If the girl in your club is the one for you, awesome, maybe she’ll make the first move. But I can tell you, you miss every shot you don’t take. If you ask her out and she rejects you, what are you willing to do to make sure it doesn’t get awkward.

ONLY 20 matches?? Lol, she's lying to you. I posed as a woman on a dating app once and had 169 matches within 24 hours - she's just being modest...
Anyway, here's a quick tip: stop texting these women asking if they got back to their dorm ok. Seems like a small thing, but while you're viewing it as "I just want to show her I care about her safety and well-being," what she's FEELING when she gets that text is "I just saw this guy, and he's already trying to get MORE of my attention? Seems like he might be needy, and now I'm turned off."
Now, some people are going to read that and say, "That's not true!" Look - I'm 39. I've had many opportunities to test this out. My findings: the women I tried to check up on after a date or text right afterward, I rarely got second or third dates with. Meanwhile, women I took out where I didn't text them? One, they'd usually end up texting me (thus showing a growing interest), and two, I usually got multiple dates, which led to eventual hook-ups and relationships.
Why? Because THESE SMALL THINGS MATTER IN THE BEGINNING. You have to get better at understanding the effect your actions have on a woman's feelings for you. Checking on a woman post-date may make logical sense to you, but if you've done this for 6 dates and each time it's resulted in you not getting a second one... I'm just saying no longer doing that may be something to consider.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I did this for 2 dates. Other ones I walked with her back to her dorm and didn't text after. No response so after a week I confirm she doesn't want a second date and that's how it ends.
[–]TheSunshineMan 7 points8 points9 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
6 dates..
How many of those did you have sex with?
I'm going to guess none?
The best way to secure a second date, is to have sex on the first.
Today I went on my 6th date from Tinder. It went well. We talked about similar interests, laughed at each other's jokes,
This doesn't mean anything.
She probably has similar interests and laughs at all her other guy friends' jokes too.
All this means is you're a normal guy.
What really matters is if you're breaking the friend barrier and coming across as someone that wants to fuck her?
Are you giving all of them strong sexual eye contact?
Are you flirting with them?
Are you breaking the physical touch barrier?
Are you sexually escalating?
Are you kissing them?
Are you fucking them?
If the answer is no to all those..
Then all you're doing is coming across as Mr. Nice Guy..
And that's it..
Let me guess at least a few of these girls has told you that you're a nice guy, but they didn't really feel any chemistry or a connection?
By not making any moves, showing your intentions of wanting them sexually, you're coming across as either:
A - just a nice friendly guy who's not interested in them, because you didn't make any moves
OR
B - You like her, but you're too much of a puss puss to make a move, turned her off, and you lost her interest.
How'd I do?
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Are you giving all of them strong sexual eye contact? Yes. Are you flirting with them? Yes. Are you breaking the physical touch barrier? Yes. Are you sexually escalating? I try to. Are you kissing them? No, she always leaves before we can escalate to that point. For example I offered to show one girl a secret hammock on campus because she said she likes studying in them. As soon as I say that she takes out her phone, remembers an essay, and I walk her to her dorm after which she ghosts. Another time I invited a girl to my dorm for a movie and she never even opened my text.
[–]TheSunshineMan 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Try to have all your dates straight to your dorm.
Or worst case, 15-30 minutes, then back to your dorm.
I would avoid trying to kiss girls in public as it'll only make it harder for you to pull back to your room, because all plausible deniability is gone.
How are you getting these girls? Daygame, night game, online?
Tinder. All girls from classes I asked said they're busy and didn't elaborate, and every one from online who I suggest to take straight to my dorm refuses or ghosts.
[–]KingoftheNorth412 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
That line is very white knightish. Definitely burn that line and never use it again.
Next time, walk her to her dorm if you’re actually concerned about her safety.
How do you compete with 20 dudes? Ever play sports? How did you make the team? How did you start? Be better than the rest man.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
I offered to walk with her she said no. At that point I realized the date failed, I just texted to be polite.
[–]KingoftheNorth412 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
If you knew the date failed, why do you care if you come off as polite or not?
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Why not?
[–]KingoftheNorth412 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Do you not value your time? Why waste it on her anymore than you already have?
Time to move on.
[–]JacobMoogberg69 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Your answer is in your last sentence. You have low self esteem/confidence. Her opinion of you is more important than your opinion of you.
Get this through your thick skull. Women don't want a guy who feels he is below them. They don't want a guy who believes he is below them and who believes others are better than him (you literally have zero evidence of who these 20 guys are and no way of objectively comparing yourself to them).
Women crave a guy who feels and believes he is above them and has at least slightly more power. They want a man they need more than he needs them. If you are going on dates already being defeated and believing you have to impress her, you have already lost.
Work on your cognitive distortions that keep you in this low self image loop. You will need to learn to see yourself realistically instead of negatively and start having positive future expectations.

The sad boy act needs to stop. The more you compare yourself and bring yourself down, the worse it will get.
Chin up, find yourself.

If you’re not kissing on the first date don’t expect a second
Never could get into a situation where I could kiss. All the dates have been in public and the one girl who invited me to her dorm hasn't opened my text since September.

"On dates I can FAKE a friendly and charming personality..." pretty much says it all right there. Sounds like you're not being genuine and despite what some men think, women do pick up on that.
Try being genuine and you might have better luck.
I genuinely do not have a personality. Even my parents complain I'm boring to talk with. Besides that, I have a very soft voice which women do not find attractive.
In my head I read this post in Fry’s voice

"Can fake a charming and friendly personality"
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
What is that supposed to mean?
[–]yeah-nahh69 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
You out here faking a personality and get a suprised pikachu face when girls don't wanna see you again
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Because I have no real personality. "Be yourself" doesn't work when even close friends say talking to you is more boring than listening to a math lecture.
[–]yeah-nahh69 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Well get a real personality. Take up some hobbies, volunteer at some places. Do some shit.
Hobbies and personality aren't the same thing. I have a job, unique hobbies, and volunteer at 2 places every week. That doesn't change how I'm boring to talk to.
[–]Windowpie1234 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Please dont put yourself down by saying things like "girls would be repulsed with the thought of dating me"..I obviously dont know you but you sound like a nice thoughtful young man, your at college and should be worrying about your studies not looking for a long-term relationship. Make friends with females 1st, get to know them and have fun,if you end up sleeping together that's great but it's not everything,if the friendship turns more then go for it.
[–]farang 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
>I will never be the best one and even if she genuinely likes me, it's guaranteed that she will find someone better soon.
With that kind of attitude, you're already in trouble.
There could be more than one reason why she didn't text back. Have a little patience.
My attitude doesn't change how I act. Nothing wrong with accepting reality instead of being delusional. If she doesn't text back in 2 days I delete her contact and forget.

Stop caring, learn to have no attachment to the outcome… only them will you become successful in what you chase

Never get second dates.
They are using you for free time, meals, attention, etc...
Today I went on my 6th date from Tinder
You deserve all the misfortune you are going to get from using tinder.
It went well.
This sounds pretty far from "going well"
when it was over she hugged me
Ewww...just a hug? Don't do this to yourself
don't know if it is my looks or personality
Definitely looks, but you are also putting yourself in the role of a simp.
How can I compete with 20 guys?
Be better looking, more fun, or better overall. Just because there are 20 guys doesn't mean they are better than you.
[–]ProfessorZoom80 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
U are too nice, u go out with them and dont even try to kiss? thats why they act this way She hugged you= i see you as a friend and not a sexual partner
I try light touching first and none return it so why would I try to kiss?
I NEVER GOT A DATE so be grateful lmao
[–]UrFavPlayerIsBack 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link
A whole time talked about similar interests & jokes.. She hugged.. Texted if she got back safe.. Faked.. Friendly..
Ps: she’s not home yet. She still has 20 more stops till gets home safe (& happy). Then she’ll def text. Or not
