Hello long time lurker here and I want to share my little successful story.

Today at lunch I was sitting alone minding my own business. Half way eating my meal I made eye contact with a girl by accident. She got her food and asked if she can sit next to me and I said yes. We started talking about life in general (I.E. what we do for a living, how old we are, what kind of music do we like etc). When all this is happening, subconsciously I caught myself thinkg about what this subreddit talked about frequently.

  • keep eye contact
  • make her laugh
  • and most importantly be myself

Just lile anything this didnt last forever unfortunately. We had to get back to our lives. As I was about to ask for her contact info she handed me her phone and told me to put in my info instead. I was shocked but happy at the same time. We texted for a while and I asked for dinner and she agreed.

Thank you guys for helping me and I will not mess this up!

TLDR: Cold approach by a girl and she asked for my number and later I asked her for dinner tonight!

Edit: for anyone wondering, on a potato scale I'm about 5.5 out of 10. Not ugly, not super good looking. I just exist.
