A good tip is to ask for a joke in return. It's a good way to gauge personality, depth and a basic understanding of their baseline humor. Why is baseline humor an important aspect? It will show how comfortable they are with you by the dirtiness of the joke. It will show the availability of a ready to use joke wich shows critical thinking. It will also show overall experience in delivering a joke giving an example of their social ability.

Why is all of this important, because its an instant test to see if this person is worth your time. This can also go both ways, it's not a girl vs boy thing. Anyone can ask for a cig or a drink, and it's a great icebreaker and conversation starter.

I usually laugh out loudly, smiling, maintaining eye contact. Then bow lightly, with an disarming “For you - sure!”. Followed by “You first please. I’ll take a vodka on the rocks”. We drink, chat, laugh, I fight off a few shit tests and we get up together, ready to leave, holding hands.

Then I usually wake up as it’s time for work fml.

I generally find a woman asking for a cigarette is usually done in a much different context as a woman asking you (a complete stranger) to buy her a drink.

I'm known to be generous with cigarettes with my friends and acquaintances. So I am like the cigarette go to guy. So many times someone is told by a friend that I can be persuaded out of a cigarette. So it's no big deal.

The context for a woman asking me to buy her a drink is much different. If it is clear that she is just using me as in a test, I will say something like, "It's a sign of disrespect to ask a stranger to buy you a drink", "It means you only value men for their money", or something similar. Some women are really not testing at all and just want to bum a drink. So context is a huge factor.

I think this is huge misinformation.

First of all, it depends by the context. A girl asking for a cigarette is just what it is, also considering how she’s asking it. Anyway, I can’t see a shit test here.

If she asks you to offer her a drink, she’s just her trying to get a free drink from you. If she gets it, good for her, otherwise she will look for another guy that will do it. Again, no shit tests here.

If you either pay something for someone or not, it’s up to you to decide if it’s ok or not. The only rule is to do it genuinely, with without expectations.

If a girl simply walks up to you and asks you to buy her a drink I would decline in most cases unless she seemed really fun and it could go somewhere. You aren't a bank, if she actually seems interested and asks, I would do it then. Although I think it's better for you to offer to buy her a drink rather than her asking. When it comes to the cigarette example, I vape and in my experience I just let them use it unless they are just cold approaching me about it lol. Interesting idea though OP. I think it's a good flirty tactic, and can be a good way to make things happen.

I used to say come with me to the bar, lets get it together. It was my test to see if she’d get up from her friends. If she said no, then I would say ‘may i bring it to you? Your friends too? What are y’all drinking?’ Then I’d leave and never come back.

Don’t smoke but as for the drink I say they should buy the first round and I’ll buy the second. This lets you know if she’s saying it because she wants an excuse to stick around and talk to you or because she’s trying to use her attractiveness to get free shit.

If she won’t buy the first round, I won’t be continuing the conversation
