Do girls like to be called stuff like "Babe?"

Why would you call them babe when you could just say her name? The most powerful word in the english is someone's name (Dale Carnagie: How to Win Friends and Influence People). Using anything other than their name is selling yourself short of a connection.

I don't think that calling someone "Babe" is a bad idea. I think it works. I don't think it's the best move though. I think the most efficient thing to do is to call someone by their name.

I use names for sure but they're over the top exaggurated, and it's clearly a joke. Babe communicates overcompensation. Saying "Yo Sarah! Let's go." is so much more powerful than saying "Yo Babe! Let's go."

I just do it when I feel comfortable with them, they just learn to accept it. In fact for most girls I make up a unique name for them based on their character type. The girl who visited me tonight was the "Hummingbird" because she is high strung and flutters around everywhere. She thinks its cute and true. I've had a Russian girl I called "Bunny", we met at a club and she was hopping around dancing, then I had a dream about her that very same night and she was a bunny I was chasing. She was actually a short term relationship because of that dream and pet name. There's been "Fox" a redhead who honestly looked like a red fox to me. There's been "Cougar" which was obvious, and "Paloma" (which means dove) as well.

Unless you're Austin Powers, not right away. When you start building comfort and after a couple of meetings, a lot of girls dig pet names.

IMO, never on the first or second meet and rarely, only in a teasing manner after that. Seems chump status to me most of the time, even in relationships. Now pet names in a context is entirely different from babe or baby. I starting calling this girl Texas last night on the Day3. However, me and a friend were teasing her about being from Texas for a long ass time so there is a story behind it, and everyone found it amusing.
