The title of this post could be taken as humorous, but what I have to say is anything but. I'll try to make this as concise as possible, but I beg all of you to read any apply this, and to pass it on to every male friend you have.

I started talking to this girl on OKCupid a while ago, and we had since been texting back and forth. We met in person for the first time last night and we slept together. After coitus, I started to notice that she was a bit off. Fast forward to this morning, and I realized that she was not normal AT ALL.

I texted her an hour later saying that I didn't think we should see each other (my rationale to her was that I was that I had issues with physical and emotional intimacy). What happened next took me by storm. In the span of a 30 minute run, I had received 11 text messages, a missed call, and a voicemail. I began to see what kind of an irrational person I was dealing with and asked her if all of the sexual contact we had was consensual, to which she thankfully said yes. Fast forward 2 hours and a lot more texts later, and I had to threaten contacting the authorities due to harassment.

In conclusion, the signs were there and I chose to ignore them, which is no fault but my own. Even though it may be tempting to throw caution to the wind and engage in any sexual contact with a questionable partner, I ask you to:

  1. THINK BEFORE YOU ACT. You perceive more than you think you do, so listen to your brain (not your heart or penis).

  2. ALWAYS WEAR A CONDOM. Use your own, not one that she provides. Venereal diseases and pregnancy are life-altering.

  3. ENGAGE IN VERBAL AGREEMENT THAT EVERYTHING YOU DO IN BED IS CONSENSUAL. This may seem silly, but an accusation of rape can change your life as much as an STI or unplanned child.

Be safe guys, and don't make the mistakes that I did.
